Title Two kinds of people

Contents

This land is inhabited by different kinds of people.

Classification method by type = very diverse. Race, East and West, High and Gold, Degree of Learning, Class, Domination and Controlled, etc.

But the reality = can be divided into two kinds of people.

One = people who believe and depend on God,

Another = people who believe and follow themselves and the world.

On the surface, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the two.

But = Jesus adamantly said ‘no’. Teach them that their results make a huge difference.

One side = the way to eternal heaven and happiness,

The other side = insists on going down the path of eternal judgment and curse.

In today's text, the two kinds of people that the Lord distinguishes are clearly shown.

1. Blessed are the

Verses 20, 21 = “Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are the hungry now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are the weeping, for you will laugh.”

1) Observation (background)

These words = to the disciples who were around the Lord at the time

They = the poor, the hungry, the weeping, the persecuted

Right now = hard and difficult, but in the future the reward in heaven will be great!

Blessed are those whom the Lord speaks of = rather those who have failed in the worldly eyes.

But = these are the truly blessed ones.

2) Applied interpretation (paraphrase)

It should be noted that “he now hunger . . .” = means primarily physical hunger, but at the same time includes a thirst for righteousness.

“The poor” = the materially poor, the poor in spirit (the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 has great spiritual significance)

“Those who weep” = those who mourn and mourn, those who mourn for sins before God and weep tears of repentance.

In other words, the Lord clearly tells us who the blessed of the two kinds of people in the world are.

(made by combining title and interpretation)

3) Application

Dear saints, (start)

There seem to be many kinds of people in the world = but in reality there are two kinds. I have to keep in my heart today for sure what kind of person the blessed one is.

Part 1 (Text)

The word of the text = “Standing on the plain”, so it is called “The Sermon of Peace”.

The previous verses (verses 17-19) = first introduces Jesus' powerful healing ministry.

The reason is to show that the Sermon on the Plains, which is developed after verse 20, is also an authoritative message.

The word of the Lord, “there are some blessed” = is the authoritative word that we must receive and believe

Subtitle 3 (Extra-Biblical Sources)

Blessed is the desire of all the people of all ages, east and west.

In Chinese, = Gaemun Manbokrae is written on the main gate at the beginning of the new year.

Koreans = engraved blessings on all tools.

If you do that = there is no way that you will get any luck, but it is because you want fortune that you have created such customs.

Blessed = means ‘one who has received grace’, and is in a state of receiving grace from God.

Are you receiving God's grace? = Blessed are you.

Subtitle 3 (Extra-Biblical Sources)

In today's world, products called = Happy Makers are on the rise.

ex).Happy Kimchi In the medical world = Prozac, an antidepressant, has become the third most popular drug in the world.

It is a drug introduced by advanced medicine to artificially increase the happiness index, but the results turned out to be poor.

In a nutshell = You can't get happiness even with drugs.

The common adage that happiness = depends on your mind is correct.

The heart is the fountain of happiness.

Subtitle 2 (outside the text, inside the Bible)

The Sermon on the Peace in Luke = is different from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew in several ways.

In Luke = blessing and curse are mentioned at the same time, but in Matthew there is only the content of blessing.

Why? = In Luke's intention, he treats two kinds of life in parallel --> To show more clearly the desired direction of life.

We too should follow the life of the ‘blessed people’ that the Lord teaches.

Part 1 (Text)

Verse 20, “Blessed are the poor, for yours is the kingdom of God.”

In ‘It is yours’, the verb Be = present tense. Shows that blessings are already present for the poor. But = actually the consummation is fulfilled on the day of the Lord's return

The humble person with spiritual and material poverty = first on the list of blessed people

Subtitle 3 (Extra-Biblical Sources)

Poor soul = possessing heaven.

Heaven is the place where God's will is done.

Poor spirit = standing naked before Almighty God.

This = I become a blank sheet before the poet,

Before the great sculptor = bare marble,

In the hands of the great pianist = to become like the keys of a piano waiting with a fluttering heart, and by the touch of a man he loves = to become like the night of a virgin who conceives a baby.

Mary = the maidservant of the Lord, so it may be done according to your word'' (Luke 1:38).

Only then will the seeds of heaven take root.

Poor heart = more than conscience, more than religion, more than any thought, it seems to be a prerequisite for meeting Jesus.

Subtitle 3 (Extra-Biblical Sources)

The Lord is on the side of the hungry and the weeping

The Lord's concern is on the heart of hunger for the kingdom of God, weeping and mourning for sin.

Now he who is hungry = will be full,

He who weeps now = will laugh.

The Lord's promise that present suffering = future blessings!

The Lord's promise that present sorrow = future joy!

How much do you = trust this promise?

Part 1 (Text)

Verse 22, “Blessed are you when people hate you and shun you, slander you, and call your name evil because of the Son of Man.”

The Lord blesses those who are persecuted

In this verse = persecution from unbelievers is expressed in four ways:

1) “Hate” = strong hostility;

2) “Away” = to exclude, banish, or banish from the community to which they belong;

3) “swearing” = insulting words;

4) “When you forsake your names because they are evil” = condemned as evil because of the name of disciples of Christ

Like this = If we are persecuted for the sake of the Lord, it is a shortcut to blessing.

People of the world = sometimes discover deep thoughts.

Baumimbogam = “When I destroy others, I become angry, and when others destroy me, I become a blessing.”

How much less = didn't the Lord say blessings to those who are persecuted?

Part 1 (Text)

Verse 23, “Rejoice and leap for joy in that day, for your reward is great in heaven. This is what their fathers did to the prophets.”

Do you rejoice and jump on that day? when?

The amazing thing is = to rejoice and jump in the day of persecution.

A grammatical explanation is needed here:

Matthew uses the imperative “rejoice” as the present imperative. This should be a continuous and repetitive action.

Luke uses the simple past imperative. This means a temporary action at any particular time.

The command to ‘rejoice and jump’ is given a limited time = ‘on that day’. Truly an amazing command.

Not (to rejoice in thinking about the meaning of suffering after suffering)

But (take positive action of joy in the very scene of persecution!)

This = paradoxical command

This is something that cannot be understood by anyone who does not know the meaning of suffering in Christ.

If you can play happily in the midst of hardship = You are definitely blessed.

conclusion:

Do you belong to the class of = blessed people?

Blessed are the poor, the hungry, the weeping, the persecuted.

Take a look at yourself! How will the Lord see me?

May we all belong to the class of blessed people that the Lord speaks of!

2. Those who will come to wrath

Verse 24, “But woe to you, you rich, for you have already been comforted.”

Verse 25, “Woe to you who are now full, for you will be hungry; woe to you who laugh now, for you will weep and mourn.”

1) Observation (background)

The Lord's Blessing Declaration = Verses 20-23

The Lord's curse declaration = From this verse to verse 26.

Four curse declarations = numerically balanced with the previous four blessing declarations

Those on whom wrath will come = the rich, the full, the smiling, the praised by others.

2) Applied interpretation (paraphrase)

“Woe to Ginger” (Wu Ai) = An exclamation of sympathetic sadness while exposing and rebuking a crime.

Along with the meaning of the condemnation and the proclamation of the curse, there is sorrow and sorrow for those who will be judged.

“The rich” = A person who prioritizes only material things and turns away from neighbors in need.

Indulging only their own interests and pleasures, unaware of their own spiritual need.

“The one who laughs” = In reality, only the satisfaction of gaining one's social status or wealth is valued.

Others are uninterested, selfish seekers of happiness.

Those who despise faith and pursue only worldly pleasures.

That is, the Lord makes it clear which of the two groups of people in the world are those who will be woeful.

3) Application

Dear saints,

There seem to be many kinds of people in the world = but in reality there are two kinds.

Among them = Knowing what kind of person ‘who will be angry’ is and receiving it as a warning voice, we must keep it in our hearts today.

Those identified as ‘accused’ = in contrast to the blessed ones.

Wrathful people = In this world, 'the rich', 'full people', 'laughing people', and those who like to be praised.

These people = people who live as they please.

A person who seeks only his own satisfaction,

A person who steals other people's things for their own happiness and causes others to cry.

But = These people will eventually lose everything they have when the kingdom of God comes, and they will be judged by God.

Do any of you know anyone like this?

They = those who are rich in spirit = that is, those who are proud.

They = those who already enjoy much of the world.

Yet = he who ignores the poor and robs them of theirs.

Is there anyone among you who is interested in you?

They = those who are full, those who spend their lives fulfilling their desires in this world, those who boast that they have nothing to envy.

But = when they will stand before the judgment seat of God in the future, they will come to realize that all that God has is useless.

Our enemy the devil = tries to use the Lord's warning in reverse.

Hear the beatitudes whispered by the devil (= quote from some text)

1. Blessed are those who do not go to church on the excuse that they are too tired and busy. They can become my most reliable workers.

3. Blessed are the people who come to the church only when they have to make an excuse to come out even though it is their own church. They will become troublemakers in the church.

4. Blessed are those who love to talk, for they will cause strife and strife, which I like.

5. Blessed are those who are skinny when they are skinny. They get angry over small things and will soon leave the church.

6. Blessed are those who do not donate because they are stingy for the work of God.

7. Blessed are those who say they love God, but hate their brothers and neighbors, for they will be my friends forever.

8. Blessed are those who do not have time to read the Bible and pray. They will be easily deceived by my enticements and will eventually be ridiculed.

Ladies and gentlemen, those whom the Lord has proclaimed a curse are the ones who laugh because they have a lot in the world.

But = they will soon find out

On Judgment Day, they realize that their wealth is of no use in saving their lives. Today's laughter will change to tears of no return.

And because these people = always live in compromise with the world, the evil world praises them.

= They do not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4). Their end will be truly miserable.

conclusion:

Do you = do you not have the element of the woe that the Lord mentioned?

Woe to those who will come = the rich, the full, the laughing, and those who like to be praised.

We all = thoroughly repent of these elements in ourselves!

The core of today's peace sermon = The Lord's word to come out on the path of blessing.

This path = the path of life, a path that becomes like a tree planted by the water.

The Lord's wish = that we be blessed

Someone? = Do not depend on the world,

Do not rely on material

Do not rely on the prince,

Someone? = Those who depend only on God.

Look around.

How many people are angry!

Now we must become messengers of the Lord's call to them.

Maranatha! The Lord is coming soon.
