Title Uninterrupted Blessing (Genesis 25:7-11)
Contents The life of Abraham, the father of faith, suggests a desirable direction of faith and life for us Christians living today. It is about how a person of faith should live and live properly in the real world where values are confused and the direction of life is lost.
1. Abraham's Last Years The life of Abraham, which began in Genesis 12, ends in Genesis 25 of the Bible today. His greatness is not in his innocence or perfection unlike us, but in spite of his human weakness, which is no different from ours. It was because he lived and digested it well and overcame it by faith.
It was a great blessing that God gave Abraham the energy to bear Isaac, but after that (Genesis 25:1) Abraham took a second wife, and her name was Keturah (Genesis 25:2) and he was Zimran, Jokshan, Medan and Midian. As the saying goes, “She gave birth to Isbak and Shua (Genesis 25:3), and Jokshan gave birth to Sheba and Dedan.
Abraham had this fault, but the positive thing is that he foresaw his own death and that they would not be a burden to Isaac (Genesis 25:6), he also gave money to his bastards so that they left his son Isaac and left them in the East during his lifetime. As the saying goes that he made him go to the same country soon, he avoided a conflict with Isaac.
Today's saints must also foresee the coming of death, and before it happens, they must first repent of their sins, forgive the person to forgive, organize the things to be arranged, and distribute them properly so that their descendants do not have quarrels with each other. This is a desirable aspect of overcoming human weakness.
2.Abraham's death Abraham, who lived a more prosperous life than anyone else in the world (Genesis 25:8), died at the age of 175 and went back to his fathers when he died because he was high in number and grew old. I have to leave.
Abraham lived a sojournful life in obedience to God's word for 100 years after he left his hometown, and he lived while enjoying God's special protection and grace, but again, when the time came, he had no choice but to leave this world.
We must not forget that Adam's descendants, regardless of who they are, have to leave this world when the time comes.
Most people tend to think of death only as the final despair and tragedy, but the death of Abraham, the father of faith, was not such a tragedy, but died in a comfortable state with a long life. Rather, it teaches us that it is the starting station to enter a new world.
Therefore, the important thing is that before the moment of death comes, we must have the faith preparation so that we can face death comfortably after living by faith like Abraham.
To those who believe in Jesus Christ today (John 5: (Gothic) 24) Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes in him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned, but has passed from death to life. As the saying goes, we should be thankful that the afterlife has been prepared more sure than Abraham.
The blessing that God gave to Isaac after Abraham was not only materialistic (Genesis 25:21). Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife because he was barren, and the Lord heard his request, and Rebekah his wife conceived. It is a word that includes spiritual blessings like the saying, “I said.”
Even though Isaac was married and had no children for 20 years, he believed in God's covenant and did not become discouraged. When Isaac prayed to God, he was finally blessed to have twins.
These events continued without interruption to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob through the special grace of God and the prayer of faith that did not lose heart despite Abraham's death and Isaac's old age. is to show
Today, we live with the same faith as Abraham so that we can face death without fear, no matter when and where death comes, and we must arrange our own wrong lives so that we do not have any regrets at the time of death, and give our descendants the faith of Isaac. We must pass on the legacy so that we can become heirs of uninterrupted blessings.
