Bible: Psalm 13:1-6

We believe and confess that God is the Almighty God who created the heavens and the earth. If God is omnipotent, things happen that are truly incomprehensible that we cannot possibly understand if God truly loves us. We don't know how often and how often things happen around us, as if God did not exist, as if He existed but was incompetent, even though He was omnipotent, but did not love us and had no interest or affection for us. But we must know God's providence and reason.

First: the reason for the management of the soul and prosperity

“How long, O LORD, will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long will my soul be troubled, and my heart grieve all day long, and how long will my enemies boast against me? What can I do?” (verses 1 and 2) You can see how difficult and desperate the difficulties were for David. However, in Genesis 39:2, it is written: It says, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he prospered.” It's something I can't quite understand. They were sold as slaves and became slaves. What is prosperity? However, if we think about Joseph's life from the perspective of those of us who know the entire life of Joseph, we can see that the words in verses 2 and 23, “The Lord was with Joseph, and he prospered” are not incorrect.

Second: Reasons for not swaying

“I fear, lest my enemies say, I have overcome him, and lest my adversaries rejoice when I am shaken” (verse 4). Joseph believed in God. I couldn't understand it, but I believed it. Later, when he meets his brothers, when they see him and are afraid, Joseph says: It is God, not my brothers, who sent me here, so I tell them not to be afraid. It was because of his belief in God that he did not understand, but he believed that God was for him even in working with him, and that he would eventually become a prosperous person because of this.

Third: Reasons to trust in the mercy of the Lord

“But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness, and my heart will rejoice in Your salvation” (verse 5). Joseph became prime minister and David became king. The situation was the same, but the result was different. Circumstances did not change the outcome. The situation was the same, but the result was different. It wasn't because of the circumstances. It was because of faith. “I have trusted only in Your love, and my heart will rejoice in Your salvation. I will sing praises to the LORD, for you are gracious to me.” (Psalm 13:5-6)
