Title Use your authority / Luke 10:19

Jesus speaks of those who perish because they do not know salvation through “You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32) and “My people perish for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). . After we believe in Jesus and are saved, what God has given us is the authority given to those who believe.

If you look at Ephesians 1:19 in the New Translation of the Bible, it is written, “I hope that you will know how great is the power of God to work with great power in those who believe.”

1. What is authority?

The authority that the Bible speaks of is the act of doing and enjoying the absolute authority of the great and great on his behalf with his permission.

2. What authority is given to believers?

We think of authority as being given only to a few chosen by God, but authority is given to all of God's children when they are born again. But the devil does not want Christians to know about the power of the believer, so he is persistent in his hindrance. Regarding this, the Lord said, “I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all power of the enemy, and no one will harm you by any means” (Luke 10:19). And God raised us, who were dead in our sins and trespasses, alive in Christ Jesus, raised us up together, and set us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. And because we have become one spirit with the Lord, the Lord's authority has been given to us as well. Therefore, up to this moment, we are not lacking and insignificant beings, but seated in the seat of heavenly authority, one with Christ.

“I will reign in life through one Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:17).

This is the authority given to us and to reign in this world through Jesus Christ.

3. How will you use your authority?

Most Christians believe that they will use their spiritual authority in heaven, but the authority has been given to use now. When we pray to the Lord, we turn all our problems to God.

But God has already handed over all authority to us, his body, who lives on earth. Many problems arise because we take no action against the forces of evil.

When you use your spiritual authority, sometimes evil spirits or diseases are cured and the problem is solved, but on the other hand, it is solved later. You only need to give orders based on God's Word and faith.

The devil doesn't go out out of sight, so you have to believe in the authority you have, not just your emotions and phenomena. A believer must not only pray to God, but must take some action after praying. The reason is that we ourselves have enough power. God wants us to use the authority He has given us. If the devil attacks our homes, we must resist with the authority God has given us.

“Therefore submit yourselves to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you” (James 4:7).

The power to resist and defeat the devil is given to us, so when we resist the devil, he flees from us.

Instead of relying on others, we must face the devil ourselves.
