Why did Elijah receive such a good response? He is a man with the same nature as us.

1. Prayer is the breath of the soul
Ephesians 6:18 “with all prayer and supplication, praying continually in the Spirit”

If you don't breathe, you're dead - dead or not dead, you can tell by seeing how you breathe
2. Prayer is a conversation with God
Isaiah 58:9 "When you call, I, the LORD, will answer; when you call, I will say, Here I am."
3. Prayer is incense offered to God
Revelation 5:8 "Each one had a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints."
Revelation 8:3 "Another angel came and stood by the altar, and took a golden censer, and received much incense, that he might offer it on the golden altar before the throne, along with the prayers of all the saints."
There is a prayer that smells, and there is a prayer that has no smell.
4. Prayer is the weapon of the good fight.
Exodus 17:8-13 "Amalek came at that time to fight with Israel at Rephidim.
Moses said to Joshua, "Choose men for us, and go out and fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the mountain with the staff of God in my hand.
Joshua did as Moses had said, and fought Amalek, and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the mountain.
When Moses raised his hand, Israel prevailed, and when he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed.
When Moses' arms were weary, they took a stone and put it under him, and let him sit on it. Aaron and Hur lifted up Moses' hands, one on one side and the other on the other, and their hands did not come down until the sun went down.
Joshua struck Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword, and destroyed them."
If we just call Daddy, the bullies run away.
5. Prayer is the key to all things.
John 14:14 "If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it."
