Title What is Spirit?

What is Spirit?

This is a time of spiritual turmoil more than ever. When I go to church, I see people who have good faith often say that they have a dark spirit when something doesn't go well. If you ask, then, how does the spirit of darkness manifest itself in reality? Opinions vary, but most say they do, either in dreams or visions. We believe that it is important to have spiritual discernment to look through the Bible to see if it is proper to say this and how the Bible speaks of the Spirit. Since it is closely related to our life, it is also essential that our race of faith is not in vain.

Because the Bible says:

“If the Spirit of God dwells in you, you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Christ” (Romans 8:9).

As you can see from the above Bible verse, there is the spirit of darkness. How then do we distinguish the spirit of God from the spirit of darkness? Let's look at the Bible.

“And it was given to him to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should speak, and that all who did not worship the image of the beast should be put to death” (Revelation 13:15)

The word for breath in the text above is pneu'ma in Greek.

The meaning of this word is:

4151 from pneu'ma 4154; 'flow' of air, ie 'breath', 'breeze', analogically or symbolically 'soul', ie the rational 'spirit' of man, (implicitly) 'living principle', mental 'temperament', or ( Superhuman things) 'Angel', 'Demon', or 'God', 'Spirit of Christ', 'Spirit', 5590 and compared to 5590. always spirit, wind angels;

It is said that the devil gave pneuma to the image of the beast. It is said that the purpose of giving this vitality, or pneuma, is to make people speak. Therefore, the spirit is in speaking. It is also said that the devil gave the image of the beast pneuma, the ability to speak, in order to kill those who disobey him.

“And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs, coming out of the mouth of the dragon, and of the beast, and of the false prophet, who were spirits of demons, who worked miracles to go to the kings of the whole world, and to bring them for war in the great day of God the Almighty. gathered” (Revelation 16:13-14).

Where does the unclean spirit (pneu'ma) come from? comes out of the mouth.

Therefore, the Lord says:

“It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth defiles a person” (Matthew 15:11) What is it that comes out of the mouth? Speech or language.

The Lord says that what comes out of the mouth defiles a person. Because what is accumulated in the heart comes out as a language. The language of the world is demonic.

“Things that proceed out of the mouth come from the heart, and this defiles a person” (Matthew 15:18).

Because language is not just about speaking and communicating, it's about giving and receiving the Spirit.

God also breathes life into us. The purpose of God giving us spirits is to save us. How would you breathe in the spirit or life? Likewise, he does it either verbally or verbally.

“It is the Spirit that gives life; the flesh is of no avail. The words I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:63).

The word of the Lord is the life-giving spirit. The words the devil speaks are the spirit of darkness, the spirit that kills.

Even the devil quotes the Bible when he is tempted. The devil's purpose in quoting the Bible is to deceive. This is to deceive people with their words and make them slaves. So, I promise with many sweet words. The world uses many beautiful words to deceive people. Do the world's powerful men promise many things for the people? Absolutely not. Everyone is there to satisfy their greed.

North Korean communists were welcomed by confiscating landlords' land and promising free distribution to those who did not have it. But what about the results? It is for some self-submissive. Our politicians make a number of promises, claim that they are the only ones for the people, and appeal to them for their support. But in their hearts they have no intention of doing so. It is only for the glory of the family, to satisfy the desire for honor to decorate one page in history.

The world also speaks of God, but they do not acknowledge God, but use it for their own benefit. Just as politicians use the people's names as if they were their own. People apart from God are not capable of love. No you can't. Even dictators speak peace and cry for justice. But they have neither the will to think of peace nor the will to do justice.

God alone can do it. So God came to this earth, and He accomplished it.

We who believe in God have received the righteousness of God as a gift, and as a proof of that, there is the sealing of the Holy Spirit within those who believe. He is the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, and the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, is the Spirit of the Word, the Spirit of Truth. The Spirit of truth purifies us and guides us to accomplish God's will. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot do anything.

With what can we be clean? You will be cleansed by the word of God.

“You are already clean by the words I spoke to you” (John 15:3).

As we have already seen, we know that what we become unclean is defiled with words, and we become clean with words. So speech or language is spirit. The language or logic of the world is the spirit of death, the spirit of darkness, and the language or word of God is the spirit of life. Therefore, the way to discern the spirit is not through prayer or fasting, but only through the word of God. So the Apostle Paul confesses:

“We do not confuse the word of God, as many do, but speak before God and in Christ, as if we received it from God with sincerity” (2 Corinthians 2:17).

So, may we have ears to hear the word of God, the Spirit that gives us life?

I bless you in the name of the Lord.
