Title What kind of couple are you?
Contents
Our church has held a couple's school for the past 4 weeks. The parent-child relationship is a blood relationship. What in the world cannot be broken is a blood relationship. However, a marriage relationship is not a blood relationship, but a contractual relationship made by love. It is a relationship that promises to live as one through each other's vows. When the promise is kept, they become a couple, but when the promise is broken, they become husband and wife, and the relationship is worse than that of others. There are various types of couples in the Bible.
The first couple is the family of an accidental husband, Nabal, and his wise wife, Abigail.
These are the couples in 1 Samuel 25. Nabal was a rich man with a large flock. Nabal completely ignores David in exile. When David leads 400 men and tries to destroy Nabal's house, the wise Nabal's wife Abigail escapes the crisis.
A second faithful husband, Hosea, and his wife, Gomer, who are savage.
The two got married, but there was a problem. His lustful wife, Gomel, becomes pregnant and gives birth to another man's child. Three children were born that way. But Hosea endures and waits until the end. The family is being protected thanks to her faithful husband.
The third couple is a couple who have good intentions for evil things. Ahab and Jezebel are married.
Her husband was also a bad person, and her wife was also a bad person who would be sad if she went a second time. Kings and queens are at the forefront of the killing of the prophets of Israel, and the same is true of idolatry. They were such a wicked couple that God did not rain for three years and six months when they ruled.
Couples of this kind are often found in the Bible, including Ananias and Sapphira among the early church figures. He decided to sell the land and give it to God, but he became greedy and deceived God and the church. Eventually, the couple became one in evil, and the family collapsed completely.
The fourth couple, Priscilla and Aquila, who lived a beautiful life in harmony with good and holy things.
