Title What the Church Gives (2004.04.25)

Contents

Date: April 25, 2004

Word: 1 Corinthians 1:22-24, Matthew 11:7-9

Title: What Does the Church Offer?

Contents:

1. What do you look for?

What 1 Corinthians says is that every man regards what he needs as the most important and earnestly seeks it. The Bible showed that Jesus is the Lord who satisfies the hungry, the sick, and the lowly and lowly, and he shows us today as well.

At the time of Jesus' ministry, the Jews looked for a sign in Jesus, and the Greeks found wisdom superior to all the philosophers who preceded him.

However, what Jesus is saying to them through the apostle Paul says that miracles seek greater miracles, and wisdom seeks greater wisdom, and there is no satisfaction. Even if you give bread to a hungry person, after a few hours you will be hungry again.

The Lord wants to give you Jesus Christ who is the source of life and who will lead you to the kingdom of God, and what the church offers you is Jesus Christ who died on the cross.

2. What did you come to church to see?

At that time, John the Baptist appeared in the wilderness to testify about justice and the coming Jesus, so many people began to gather in the wilderness.

What did you go out into the wilderness to see? The wilderness is a place that the world has nothing to see. The wilderness is where there is only a swaying reed.

He went straight out into the wilderness to see John the Baptist. So, what is John the Baptist witnessing? That is Jesus Christ.

3. What will the church give you?

The Lord came to this world and gave everything. It shows that the Lord is the Lord of all things.

But all of that can never satisfy us. In the end it's useless

* Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.

* Jesus is crucified.

In the end, what brought us together like this

It was to offer Jesus.
