The situation in the text we are looking at today is a very heartbreaking situation for the Jacob family. The brothers hate each other and there is a lot of conflict, but there is no solution. Actually, the cause of this conflict is Jacob and Joseph, but they have no idea how serious this conflict is. So Jacob sends Joseph a really embarrassing errand: "Come and watch your brothers take care of their sheep." It's also an errand for a fairly long trip that would take several days. So Jacob is completely unaware that the conflict is so serious that if Joseph did something wrong, he could be killed. But even Joseph could not understand the situation at all. He used to tell his father what his brothers did wrong, and he didn't know what would happen if he met his brothers far away from home. He said, "Yes, I'll be back." Do you have the famous colored clothes? Wear it and go find your brothers. Wearing the clothes that make his brothers tantrum... Joseph doesn't know anything about it. Moreover, how do you know if you are leaving on a road from which you will never return home?

Is there any part of your life that you are not aware of at all about serious problems? It is in some way a sin to have no knowledge of the seriousness of a problem. You say you didn't know? no. You can't avoid that answer. Even today, the economy is difficult, and after the IMF burst, the people who should have taken responsibility for it said they didn't know, is that acceptable? No. Even though it's been 10 or 20 years since I was baptized, is it acceptable to say "I didn't know what it was like to believe in Jesus"? I didn't know if I should pray while believing in Jesus, I didn't know if I should read the Bible while believing in Jesus, I didn't know if I should evangelize or live right? It doesn't make sense. What? Also, our church is changing little by little these days. This will change even more in the years to come. If there is an officer who does not notice any changes in our church among the officers, he must think seriously about himself.

The Bible is very interesting. See verses 15-16. Who is wandering now? Joseph. wandering in the fields. Why? My father said that my brothers would be in Shechem, but when I came, they were not there. So I'm wandering in the fields. By the way, this is not a matter of wandering. Basically, any Jewish shepherd knows the shepherding course. As the grass goes up from the south to the north, the shepherds also follow the road to the north, and that is the case every year. But Joseph is lost because he has never been there. A passer-by asks because he is too pitiful. "What are you looking for?" who is not what Perhaps you thought you were looking for a lost sheep? Then what did Joseph say? "I'm looking for hyungs, so can you teach me?" This is an introduction to a really pathetic Joseph who asks a stranger where his brothers are.

Anyway, at last Joseph found his brothers. The brothers saw it from a distance and knew it right away. Because of those nice clothes. The envy must have escalated. And why did you come? you would have thought Ah! I'm here to warn you again, to watch over you! the brothers say "A dreamer is coming!" I remembered the dream that pissed them off again. What are their first words? "Let's kill it!" And "throw it in the pit!" I also make plans for the aftermath. “Tell my father that he was caught and eaten by an animal.” Their anger was so intense that they wanted to kill Joseph as soon as they saw him. The eldest of them, Reuben, apparently knew that killing Joseph was not the solution to the problem. So I calm my brothers.

Joseph had no joy in finding his brothers at the end of a long journey, but as soon as he met them, his nice clothes were stripped off and he was thrown into a waterless pit. How surprised and embarrassed were you? By the way, the attention of the Bible text now is not focused on Joseph's heart, sorrow and embarrassment. So there is no record of his cry or mourning. Rather, he is interested in how his brothers deal with Joseph. Reuben asks to be thrown into a pit to save his life. He tries to save Judas too, but if you send him away, he tells you to sell it because it's different from killing him. At this time, Reuben went to look after his flock and was not there, but came back late and wept, but it was already too late. Joseph had already been sold to a distant country.
