Title When you break the rice cake
Content Subject: When you break the rice cake
Bible: Luke 24:28-35
The Lord's Supper was the center of worship. In the early church, the Lord's Supper was celebrated every Sunday. Even for the Reformers of the 16th century, the Eucharist was a subject of great interest. Calvin said, "The true church must have the Word correctly proclaimed and the sacraments properly administered."
The sacrament is the visible Word, and the sermon is the invisible Word. God has given us amazing power through the sacrament and preaching through the church.
Here are the 5 meanings of the Lord's Supper.
1) The Lord's Supper as thanksgiving to the Father.
We thanked our Heavenly Father for everything He did for us.
2) The Lord's Supper as a remembrance of Christ.
The Eucharist commemorates the death and resurrection of Christ on the cross. Commemoration here is not just about remembering the past in the form of 'Remember 6.25'. This event will take place in my present life, and the kingdom of God will be established in the future.
3) Holy Communion as an invitation of the Holy Spirit
Through this communion, the Holy Spirit renews our spirit by giving us a burning feeling and grace.
4) The Lord's Supper as a fellowship of saints
The unity of the church community, which is the body of Christ, and fellowship within it. Sharing a common bread and cup in one place, we are now one. We, who have received the body and blood of Christ, share the content and direction of our lives in the same faith.
5) The Lord's Supper as the Meal of the Kingdom of God
It should be a celebration of the coming kingdom of God and a festive feast of joy and rejoicing beyond solemnity. Now, in the kingdom of God, there is no tears, pain, pain, or death, and it is a pleasant place of eternal life and happiness. It is a dinner that will bring you back to life while looking at the country you will be visiting in the future.
The most important factor in these five points is that they must come into each person's heart today as a 'hot experience'. True faith must be experiential. The experience of being broken and melted before Him and being born again and being transformed must be done before this sacrament. The great people of God are people of experience. Abraham had the experience of meeting and talking with God in the middle of the night. The experience of Jacob’s Bethel and the experience of the voyage of suppression, Moses’ experience of burning a bush on Mount Horeb, Elijah’s experience of hearing the subtle voice of YHWH in the cave of Sinai, Isaiah’s experience of burning his lips with charcoal in front of the altar, Paul’s There are experiences of meeting the resurrected Lord at Daegesek Dojo, and experiences of Peter and his disciples receiving the Holy Spirit in the upper room on the Day of Pentecost. I hope that you will also experience the wonderful power of God today. Today's text The Lord gives the disciples a passionate experience on their way to Emmaus.
First, the Holy Spirit comes upon us in the Word.
It is time for the word of the Lord to reach your heart. May the Holy Spirit of God come upon you in full. Among the spiritual training of medieval monks, there was a training method called 'Dektaso Divina'. The monk does not read the Bible, but deeply and deeply meditates on any passage or event in the Bible, and in silence, the Spirit of Christ comes directly to the monk's heart and speaks directly to him. When we listen to or meditate on the word of the Lord, we must also hear the voice of the Spirit of Christ speaking to us. We want our hearts to be as hot as the disciples' hearts.
Second, the experience of the presence of the risen Christ is in "the event of the breaking of bread and the sharing of love." Sharing food is to confirm the solidarity of life. It is also a confirmation of love. Love is the basis that makes life possible. The Lord has accepted us with his sacrificial love and has called us to this place. We cannot share food without forgiveness. The Lord's Supper for us today is a table of forgiveness and love. Now we too must receive this temple, forgive and love. Dear saints, Look at your mother sitting next to you. Look at the brother sitting next to you. look at the sisters He is the gift God has given you. Just as God has forgiven us, let us forgive you now. It is said that when you share this bread of love, your eyes are opened. I hope that our eyes will be opened and we will be able to see God in the near future with this holy ceremony today. Amen.
