Title When you enter the house of God
Contents
The book of Ecclesiastes is God's word that suggests a way to overcome the futility of life and gives direction.
As you go through life, there will be many things that are too meaningless and futile.
Among them, even worshiping God is meaningless and formal. We want to share grace while finding a way to properly meet God.
Everyone has a chance now.
To stand upright before God and to meet God
1. We must abstain from our feet. (Position of Worship)
When God met Moses and Joshua, he said, “Take off your sandals.”
Exodus 3:5 "Do not come near here," said God, "and take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you stand is holy ground."
Joshua 5:15 The commander of the army of the LORD said to Joshua, "Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy, and Joshua did so.
To Moses, he turned to the direction of life as a leader who would lead the Israelites out of Egypt
For Joshua, it is to change the direction of the life of the leader who conquers and rules the land of Canaan. The Bible says that they heard the word of God and acted on it.
It is customary for the priests to wash their hands and feet in a bowl of water before entering the sanctuary (Exodus 30:18-19).
Hearing the word of God and turning away from doing evil (Ecclesiastes 5:1).
It means taking steps. That is better than doing evil and offering sacrifices to God.
Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift at the altar and go first, be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
Worshiping and offering offerings are good in themselves. However, if you worship with a heart that hates your brothers and has done evil, you cannot concentrate on your thoughts, become a hindrance, and you can easily condemn others.
Psalm 119:59-60 I have considered my ways, and have turned my feet to your testimonies; I have made haste and did not delay to keep your commandments.
We need to turn like the psalmist. You need to change direction.
Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things the LORD hates, seven things that are detestable in his heart: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises evil schemes, feet that run swiftly to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, and a dissenting person between brothers.
The correct attitude toward God's holy worship must be directed toward God, and toward hearing and doing God's Word.
2. Be careful with your mouth. (Position of life)
Chapter 6 Conquest of Jericho
Joshua 6:10 And Joshua commanded the people, saying, Ye shall not cry, and let not your voice be heard, and let nothing come out of your mouth: and in the day that I command you to cry, you shall shout.
How many people will say that Jericho is destroyed in a nonsensical way (one round the city a day, and seven rounds on 7 days with a shout)? What Joshua commanded was to be careful with your words.
They grumbled and complained, and they spent 40 years
Numbers 14:27 How long shall I endure this wicked congregation that murmurs against me? I have heard the murmuring of the children of Israel against me.
14:33-34 Your children shall bear your rebellious sins, and you will be wandering in the wilderness for forty years, until your corpses are consumed in the wilderness. And you will bear your iniquities for forty years, and you will know that I hate you.
Joshua was very careful about their mouths because it was a fact they had known through their wilderness life.
The writer of Ecclesiastes tells us to speak less.
Proverbs 10:19 A lot of talk is hard to avoid, but he who controls his lips is wise.
Proverbs 13:3 He who guards his mouth keeps his life, but he who opens wide his lips brings destruction.
come
Proverbs 18:20-21 A man is satisfied with the fruit of his mouth, and he is satisfied with the fruit of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and he who loves it will eat its fruit.
3. Be sure to pay your vows. (Prayer Posture)
We need to take a look at our prayers.
A vow is a promise to God.
Acts 5 Ananias and Sapphira ; Because they do not keep their promises to God, they face the unfortunate event of losing their lives.
If you have prayed for anything, you must keep your promises with God.
Even if you made a vow self-centeredly, you must pay it.
Numbers 6 Nazarite's Lifestyle: It means that we must provide a separate life. (Alcohol, razor, body, etc.)
We are Christians. A saint who must live a life separated from the world.
1 Corinthians 1:2 To the church of God which is in Corinth, to those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be saints, and to all who in every place call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is both them and our
Saints are those who are sanctified in Jesus.
We are all saints. We must strive to be holy.
Psalm 15:1 Who, O LORD, will dwell in your tents, and who will dwell in your holy mountain? 2 Who walks uprightly, who practices justice, who speaks truth in his heart, 3 and does not accuse him with his tongue, nor do evil to his friends, 4 His eyes despise prostitutes, he honors those who fear the LORD, and his vows in his heart are harmful, but he does not change; 5 he does not pay interest, accepts a bribe, and does not harm the innocent. sleep will never be moved.
Psalm 24:3-6 Who will come up on the mountain of the LORD, and who will stand in his holy place, who has clean hands, a pure heart, who does not set his mind in vain and does not swear falsely. They will find righteousness from the God of God, a people who seek the LORD, those who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
∴ Only fear God.
Fearing God is the right attitude to become holy and worship.
To fear is to look only to God.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Now that we have heard the end of things, fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man's duty, and God will judge every deed and every secret thing, good or evil.
