Title Job 01:8 A life of pride

Content If we look around us, it is full of advertisements. TV, Internet, newspapers, magazines, signs, banners, various leaflets, etc... . Everywhere people go, they are flooded with all kinds of advertisements. I think that one of the blessings that God the Creator has given to us humans is the talent to advertise. Winning the advertising strategy becomes a luxury, and a famous brand. That is why we who believe in God also need pride.

The Apostle Paul confessed, "I have nothing to boast of except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ" (Galatians 6:14). The Apostle Paul, who met the Lord in Damascus, boasted and testified of the cross of the Lord who bore the cross for himself, and was martyred in a ferocious manner.

The pride of us Christians is only to boast of the cross of salvation, just like the apostle Paul. On the other hand, there are people in the Bible whom God boasted about. He is Job. What was God proud of? Even for Satan. Why?

First, Job was innocent. To be pure means to be morally innocent because there is no lie and is pure. Christians must be pure and morally innocent before God and men. Second, it was honest. To be honest means to have an upright heart without pretense. In Ecclesiastes 7:29, God said, “He made man upright.” A Christian should live an honest life. Third, Job feared God and turned away from evil. The word awe means respect and difficulty. Proverbs 14:2 says, "The hallmark of the upright is the fear of God and turning away from evil."

Now, we live in an age where we do not fear God and only create our own pride and self-interest, which is stained with lies and evil. For us like Job, God wants us to be the light and salt of the world by being born again as Christians who are the pride of God by living a life that is pure, honest, God-fearing, and free from evil.

It's not good for me to brag about myself. The synergistic effect of boasting is that when others boast about you, it becomes the greatest pride. How much more of an honor it would be if God the Creator made me proud. Let us all become Christians who are the pride of God.
