Title Korah's Rebellion/Numbers 16:1~3
Content 24. Korah's Rebellion
Numbers 16:1~3
A rebellion broke out against the leadership of Moses and Aaron. Its initiator is Korah. Because Korah was a cousin of Moses and Aaron, he was in charge of the high-ranking ministry of the tabernacle. However, he is not satisfied with that and uses the psychology of the crowds weary of life in the wilderness to agitate the people in order to occupy the highest priesthood, the highest honor of a Levite.
“Gentlemen, Moses and Aaron have been in power for too long. Too much power is concentrated on them. But what did they give us? Other than hunger and suffering in this wilderness?” “Yes. We need a new leader now.” "That's right! That's right!" Gora's instigation comes from among the people who sympathize with them. “Now, if any of you want to create a new history with me, please come forward.” Those who sympathize with Korah's rebellion come forward. Among them were two hundred and fifty chiefs of each tribe. This is the moment when another powerful faction is formed.
The greatest crisis came to the ministry of Moses and Aaron. The rebels centered on Korah justify their rebellion and claim the following:
“God has set apart each one of the Israelites as holy. Therefore, we can all become holy priests before God. Priesthood is not an exclusive right that only certain people enjoy. But Moses and Aaron are trying to rule for a long time for their own honor, and at the same time, they are ruling over us themselves, so how can we be complacent?”
The rebellion of Korah and his party was not simply against Moses and Aaron, but was an evil thought that disregarded God's authority and rulership and sought to satisfy human greed. But God is not a helpless person who is taken advantage of by such humans. Remember. The fact that no one can compete with God and win!
