Lessons from the establishment of the Antioch Church (Acts 11:19-30)
When the Jerusalem church suffered persecution, the saints scattered all over the place to preach the gospel. Through the tool of tribulation, God established the Antioch Church, a forward base for world missions.
I. If you believe and obey the covenant, you will experience God's hand (power and blessing).
II. First, prepare yourself as a vessel to be used. And wait for God's time, and when the ministry is given, be faithful and dedicate yourself.
When the church in Jerusalem heard that a great crowd of Gentiles had returned to the Lord in Antioch, they sent Barnabas to Antioch. Barnabas is a vessel prepared by God in God's time. He is 1. a person of positive faith 2. a comforter 3. a good person 4. a person with the Holy Spirit 5. a person who is full of faith 6. a person who builds talent 7. a person who cooperates 8. a good teacher 9. a person who is devoted to the Lord, the gospel, and the church It was. In this way, he brought many people back to the Lord, and he and Paul brought up the disciples well so that they could be called Christians.
Ⅲ. All Christians are brothers and sisters in Christ.
A Christian is 1. A person who believes and accepts Jesus as the Savior 2. A person who keeps His law (law of love) 3. A person who dedicates himself to Christ and the gospel. And all Christians are one new born brother and sister in Christ. The Antioch Church did its best to provide relief when the Jerusalem Church suffered from famine. We must unite in love for one another and help Christians in need.
Where is God's will?
In Acts 11:19-30 we learned. The first is world evangelization. Conduction. God saved the soul by scattering the Jr Church to evangelize. The second is the practice of love. God gave a worldwide famine and made life difficult. The Antioch Church saved the Jr Church, which was more difficult during the difficult times. Love is being one. Helping neighbors in need.
