Title Let's live and communicate! (Numbers 36:1~13)
Content We are living in an era where 'communication' between members at home, church, or country is important these days. Recognizing that communication is important will prove that the lack of communication is that serious.
Do you have good communication in your home? Are there smooth communication between the couple or between parents and children?
How do you communicate with your boss or co-workers at work?
The reason why communication is not good is because they unilaterally insist on their own thoughts and arguments.
If you think from the other person's point of view and be a little considerate of the other person's point of view, communication will improve a little.
Today's text is the last part of the Bible in Numbers.
Joseph's descendants from the tribe of Manasseh came to Moses, and if the Zelophehad women belonging to their tribe marry other tribesmen, they will inherit the land they inherited from their husbands. It was argued that the land received would decrease.
In Numbers 27, the daughters of Zelophehad came to Moses and requested that they inherit the inheritance, though they were women, because their father had died without a son, and the condition was granted, and at that time they like an inheritance. But now, if they marry people of another tribe, the inheritance they received will belong to another tribe after their husband.
Moses asks God about this problem, and God solves this problem by allowing the women of Zelophehad to marry only within the tribe of Manasseh.
In this process, no one insisted or made a compelling argument to carry out their own will. Moses brought the matter to God and prayed, and as God had said, he communicated it to the people, and all the people obeyed.
If they only thought about their own interests, there would have been divisions among the Israelites.
We should become the ones who can listen to other people's opinions in the family and in our church and think about other people's point of view once more.
I think the most important communication above all else is communication with God.
I hope that you and I will be able to listen to the voice of God and to always go before God in prayer to achieve smooth communication.
