1. Betrayal of Jesus; Apostate (47-48)
The sin of betraying the Lord was committed by the apostate Judas.
One). He was one of the disciples who professed their faith (followers of the Lord).
Even a few hours before that night, he and his disciples shared bread with the Lord at the Lord's Supper.
He quickly escaped from the supper and betrayed the Lord.
2). He was the leader of the evil that led the world and resisted Jesus.
"I came before them," leading the temple guards sent from the Roman Council of Sanhyedrin, and appeared before them, choosing the world's money, status, and honor over Jesus.
3). He committed a cunning crime of deceiving the Lord.
The day was dark. Can the soldiers distinguish Jesus in the dark? no. therefore
Judas made known Jesus by getting close to him and kissing him in a cunning plan. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
A kiss in the Near East is an expression of friendship and loyalty between friends. So Judas tried to deceive the disciples and Jesus according to their plan.
"Do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?" This is a question that penetrates Judas' heart.
He still wanted to reach out to Judas if possible (Matthew 26:48-50).
