Contents
26. They came to the land of Gerasenes opposite Galilee.
27. When he landed on the land, a man from the city who was possessed by a demon met Jesus, who did not wear clothes for a long time and did not dwell in houses, but dwelled among the tombs.
28. When they saw Jesus, they cried out, fell on their faces before him, and cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Jesus, Son of the Most High God, what have you to do with me, I ask you, do not trouble me.”
29. This is because Jesus had already commanded the unclean spirit to come out of this man (the demon sometimes seized this man, so he kept it with chains and furrows, but he broke the tie and was driven out by the demon into the wilderness)
30. When Jesus asked what your name was, he said, "An army." Because many demons were possessed.
31. He begged him not to tell him to go into the abyss.
32. Just then, there were a large herd of pigs eating on the mountain, and the demons begged permission to enter the pigs, and it was granted.
33. And the demons came out of the man and entered the pigs, and the herd ran down the slope and entered the lake, where they were drowned.
34. When those who struck him saw what had happened, they fled and reported to the city and the village
35. And people came out to see what had happened, and came to Jesus, and when they saw the man who had gone out of a demon, clothed and sound, sitting at Jesus' feet, they were afraid.
36. Those who had seen how the demon-possessed had been saved came to them.
37. All the people around the land of the Geraseans were very afraid and asked that they leave. Jesus got into the boat and died.
38. The man who went out of the devil asked to be with him, but Jesus sent him, saying,
39. Go back to your house and tell them all the great things that God has done for you. Then he went and preached throughout the city how great Jesus had done for him.
