Title Mark 04:1-20 Plowing the heart
The season of life bursting with flower buds returns. However, I think the world life is not tainted with greed and lust. Now, I hope for a spring day of grace when flowers of grace bloom in the soul.
Today's text is the parable of Jesus' sowing. It is a parable that we are well aware of, so know that we can neglect it, so listen (4:3), and he who has ears, let him hear (4:9).
A farmer who sows seeds by putting them in a perforated sack in a fertile area north of the Sea of Galilee. It's a rough hand like the old cow and grandfather in 'War Nangsori'. Look at the steps of the Lord, the heavenly farmer, whose face is filled with hope.
It is to sow the seed of life in heaven for us who cannot stretch our backs because of our sins. Seeds open their closed shells with a kiss with the warm chest of the earth. It sprouts seeds of faith, flowers of hope bloom, and bears the fruit of love. But the Lord says that the problem is not in the seed, but in the field.
It is a roadside field (4:4). It is a hardened heart that does not understand the Word even if it hears it. It is an unprepared, unresponsive, hardened heart.
It is a rocky field (4:5-6). After planting, shoots come out, but there are no roots because the soil is not deep. When the sun of pain hits, it dries up. There is a core of emotions in the heart. Emotional and impulsive mind.
It is a field of thorns (4:7). As it grows, it dies because of the energy of thorns. It is an unorganized, cluttered mind. Confusion like a thread. That's right. Seeds that fall on the roadside do not germinate. A seed that falls on a rocky ground will sprout but wither.
A thorny field is an unfortunate field that sprouts and grows, but does not bear fruit. What should I do? It will be a good field. It's Octo mentality. 'They are on the good soil, these are those who hear the word with an honest and good heart, keep it, and bear fruit with patience' (Luke 8:15). A well responsive and well prepared mind.
We need to cultivate our heart field now. The old ground must be plowed (Hos 10:12). We must plow the sharp and sharp word. We must destroy the pride raised by the Tower of Babel of sin with the edged sword of the Holy Spirit. It is time for a life-threatening spiritual transplant operation.
The heart of stone that is panting with the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life must be cut out with the blood-stained gospel of the cross. Now is the time to plow the old fields and welcome the spring of the soul. So, I pray that it will bear fruit a hundredfold, sixtyfold, or thirtyfold.
