Title Matthew 17:14-20 Bring him here
Introduction: This is an excellent study of beliefs and abilities.
1. Background: Jesus after the Transfiguration (14)
2. Tragedy caused by incompetence (15-16)
3. Rebuking incompetence (17-18)
4. Obvious reasons for incompetence (19-20)
1. Background: Jesus after the Transfiguration (14)
The glory of heaven and the experience of transfiguration on the mountain,
The world problems that occurred the next day and the experience of the valley (Luke 9:37) contrast.
The glory of devotion is aimed at reaching out to the needy and meeting their needs.
Do not stay on the top of the mountain, you must come down to the earth where the world lives
There is no event that teaches us the necessity of ministry more than the experience of Christ.
① Transformation was an end in itself (devotion), but it was also a means (work) to serve.
② Transformation requires us to live a monastic life, but also prepares us to meet the needs of the world.
③Prayer on the Mount requires renewal, but it also requires work to go out into the world.
④God wants to feed our souls every day to nourish our souls, but
It wants to send us to the daily needs of the world.
⑤ God wants our personal attention and fellowship,
He wants to send you to care and give to a lost world.
2. Tragedy caused by incompetence (15-16)
Tragedy happened because of incompetence (Matthew 17:16, Mark 9:18).
