As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples.
He said to them, "Go to the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied up and a colt with it. Untie it and bring it to me."
If anyone says anything to you, say, ‘The Lord will use it.
This was to fulfill the word spoken by the prophet, saying,
Say to the daughter of Zion, Your king is coming to you, humble and riding on a donkey, the foal of a yoke.
The disciples went and did as Jesus commanded.
They brought a donkey and a colt, and put their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them.
Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut down branches and spread them on the road.
And the crowd that went before and were behind shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest."
When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in a commotion, saying, Who is this?
The crowd said, "Jesus the prophet who came out of Nazareth in Galilee."
When Jesus entered the temple, he drove out all who were buying and selling in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those who sold doves.
He said to them, “It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer; but you make a den of robbers.”
The blind and the lame came to Jesus from the temple, and he healed them.
When the chief priests and scribes saw the strange things that Jesus was doing, and the children in the temple cried out, Hosanna, Son of David, they were angry.
They said to him, "Do you listen to what they say?" Jesus said, "You have perfected the praise that comes out of the mouths of infants and cubs."
He left them and went out of the city to Bethany and stayed there.
