Lesson 4 Noah (Genesis 6:9-12)
1. We will study “Noah”. Remember Noah's Flood? Noah was the son of Lamech, the 10th chosen people. Although all of Noah's direct ancestors were chosen people, God showed special grace to Noah, and the people of Noah's day were wicked people beyond God's acceptance (Genesis 6:5).
2. By grace, Noah did three things: ① he acted righteously, ② he acted perfectly (nearly), and ③ walked with God like Enoch. So I got more grace. However, the people of that time were so wicked that God decided to kill all the people and animals (those who were determined to kill would not be saved), except for one pair of various animals needed for Noah's eight family and Noah's family.
3. So he commanded Noah to “build an ark”. The size of the ark is about 150m long, about 80m wide, and about 15m high, and it is a large three-story ship. Noah mobilized manpower to build the ship for 120 years, waiting for God to use it.
4. However, when Noah was 600 years old, God told Noah's family and all the animals to be burned, so he went into the ark with food, but God shut the door of the ark (Genesis 7:16), on the 7th Later, a torrential rain flooded the land, and the ark floated on the water and even the mountains were flooded. Needless to say, all the people and other animals who did not enter the ark died.
5. Noah came out of the ark after a year and 17 days (Genesis 7:4, 10, 8:14-19) and offered sacrifices to God. God decided to save only Noah's family, and Noah had his wife, Shem, Ham, Japheth, three sons, and his wives. He was the second ancestor who died at the age of 950.
