Passover, Harvest Festival, and Ingathering (Exodus 23: 14 ~ 16)

Israel passed the Feast of Unleavened Bread (Passover) by God who brought Israel out of Egypt

He is telling the people to keep the Feast of Harvest (Feast of Weeks) and Ingathering (Feast of Tabernacles).

This is to explain God's protection and God's blessing in God's salvation.

1. Life deceived

1) You are deceived by yourself (Jeremiah 17:9).

2) We are being deceived by blood (Jeremiah 17:5).

3) They are deceived by power (Isaiah 6:1).

4) We are being deceived by riches (Proverbs 23:5).

2. After the Exodus

1) Pillar of cloud and pillar of fire (Exodus 13)

2) Crossing the Red Sea like land (Exodus 14)

3) There was no need to worry about food with manna and quail (Exodus 16)

4) Crossing the Jordan River (Joshua 3)

5) Destroying Jericho (Joshua 6)

6) Conquering Canaan (Joshua 11)

3. The Spiritual Meaning of the Three Feasts

1) Passover (Feast of Unleavened Bread): Salvation (indwelling the Holy Spirit)

2) Harvest Festival (Feast of Weeks): Protection (accompaniment of the Holy Spirit)

3) Feast of Ingathering (Feast of Tabernacles): Blessing (working of the Holy Spirit)

4. Thank you, thank you, thank you

1) Reason for thanksgiving: Because of the Passover (salvation)

2) Material for thanks: Have the vertebrae (protection)

3) Results of Thanksgiving: Enjoying the Feast of Ingathering (Blessing)

“14 You shall observe the feasts to me three times a year. 15 You shall observe the feasts of unleavened bread, and you shall eat unleavened bread for seven days at the appointed time in the month of Abib, as I commanded you, because in that month you came out of Egypt empty-handed. 16 Keep the Feast of Harvest, for you reap the firstfruits of what you sowed in the field. Observe the Feast of Ingathering, because at the end of the year you gather and store what you have worked for from the field. 17 All your males must appear to the Lord GOD three times a year. 23:14-17) Amen!
