Title Paul's Advice of Tears (2012.4.22)

Contents

Date: April 22, 2012

Word: Philippians 3:17-21

Title: Paul's Advice on Tears

Contents :

Paul is writing to the church at Philippi, the first gateway to Europe, the church he built during his second missionary journey from a prison in Rome, admonishing him with tears to stand firm in his faith.

1. One who thinks about the things of the earth

Those who care about the things of the earth are those who have attachment to the things of the world and those who follow the flesh and prefer the things of the flesh.

Those who pursue the pleasures of the flesh, those who do not consider the things of God, but seek only the things of the flesh.

Our citizenship is in heaven.

This means that we should live our lives in the light of the laws of the kingdom of heaven.

Why was the Apostle Paul so sad and even shed tears now?

It was because of the pity of those who waste their lives not living the way they should.

These words are not addressed to unbelievers.

This is what he said to those of us who said we believe in Jesus.

A true saint is one who thinks about the above and seeks it.

2. Make those who imitate your life

Paul says, “Imitate me” together, brethren.

= I have always confessed that I am a “servant of Jesus Christ.”

= He boasted only about the cross and resurrection of Jesus. = He was only a man bound by the Holy Spirit.

= I taught the church to please God.

The reason Paul exhorted us to imitate ourselves like this was because he was an imitator of Jesus Christ.

3. Let's wait for the Lord Jesus. Where are our hopes and expectations?

Are you in the world's honor and wealth? Or are you in your children's success?

Our expectation should be in the Second Coming of the Lord.

We must be those who wait for the Lord's return.

Because our citizenship is in heaven.

Let's live in keeping with the counsel of the apostle Paul.

Let's not only think about the work of the earth, but let's live a life that serves as a model for many people's lives.

Although it is difficult and difficult, I ask in the name of the Lord that you live in anticipation of the Lord's return.
