Prepared Vessels/ 2 Kings 4:1-7
------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------
There was a great famine in the land of Israel, and many people starved to death and suffered from hunger. in which village
The wife of the Prophet's cadet had lost her husband and was living with her two sons. In today's terms, she is the wife of a seminary student who lost her husband and lives with two sons. The woman had lost her husband and was living with her two sons, so life was indescribably difficult. In addition, he owed someone else, but he was unable to repay the money and his two sons were in danger of being sold into slavery. This woman had lost her husband and lived only for a son, but now she has lost two sons as well.
This woman felt like the sky was falling.
At this time, Elisha came to this house and heard about it. Elisha spoke to the family. How can I help you? What remains of this house? Yes! The only thing left in the house is a bottle of oil. Then go to your neighbor's house and borrow an empty bowl, borrow as much as you can.
The woman and her two sons obeyed Elisha and borrowed a vessel without asking why.
Then Elisha began pouring oil into the empty vessel he had borrowed. one bowl two bowls
The three bowls .... The oil did not stop and filled the prepared bowl. And when the prepared vessel was exhausted, the oil stopped. The woman and her two sons took the oil and sold it to the market to pay off debts and prepare food for the future.
Children! Why did Elisha ask you to borrow an empty vessel? In this empty house, empty vessels are of no use. However, when he obeyed Elisha and prepared empty vessels, God's blessing filled them with oil. An empty vessel is our faith. The blessings we receive from God depend on how much we have prepared. That's why Romans 12:3 tells us to do it according to the measure of our faith. God blesses us as much as our prepared faith.
If you prepare a small amount of vessels, there will be fewer blessings, and if you prepare a lot, there will be more.
Children! Let's prepare many vessels of faith so that God's blessings do not cease.
