Venue: Jeonju Yebut Church Small Worship Room

Introduction

The reason for the praise has been mentioned a lot before. However, we must find a reason to praise in the text and give praise to God.

Why should we praise the Lord?

1. Because he is close to us (verse 18).

“The Lord is near to all who call on Him, and near to everyone who calls on Him with all sincerity.”

The Lord is very close to all who pray. So, since He gives comfort and grace to those who pray, how can we not offer thanks and praise? Even if those who pray and receive answers are not allowed to pray, they will prepare to die and offer prayers and praise just like Daniel.

2. Because He grants our wishes (verse 19).

“The Lord grants the desire of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them.”

This means that He hears the prayers of the saints you love, but He grants all your wishes. When the saints experience that all that they desire from God, how can they not sing praises? Humans live with many wishes. So, knowing that your wish will come true, you live with hope. I live with the hope that tomorrow will be better than today, next month will be better than this month, and next year will be better than this year. However, if you see your wishes come true one by one in the course of your life, you will not be able to endure it without praising God.

3. Because he protects us (verse 20).

“The Lord protects all who love him, and he destroys all who are evil.”

The righteous are protected by God, but the wicked are destroyed. This does not mean that we live only on earth, but that we will be protected by God both on earth and in heaven. The Lord promised that He would always be with us until salvation is complete and enjoyed, and He promised to help us even to the end of the world. In other words, God protects the saints he loves like the pupil of the eye so that they can live with the Lord forever. This is an unchanging and sure promise. So that's why it should be praised.

conclusion

“I will praise the Lord with my mouth. Let everyone in the flesh praise the Lord’s holy name forever” (verse 25).

That's right. He is close to those who pray, grants wishes to those who serve, and protects those who love the Lord forever, so we cannot but praise the Lord.
