We live in the 70's and 80's. When life ends in the 80's and 90's, what's next? After that, the Bible says that eternal life, eternal life, is prepared for us. 2 Corinthians 5:1 says, “If the earthly house of our tents is torn down, we know that we have a house made by God, an eternal house in heaven, not made with hands,” he says.
All of us humans are destined to prepare for eternity and long for eternity. But because sin has entered our hearts and defiled our hearts, we keep losing interest in eternity. People are unaware of eternity because they forget about God because they are interested in eating, living, and dressing. However, please believe that a wise life is a life that longs for eternity and a life that prepares for eternity.
Then why should we long for eternity?
First, because life is short (verses 5-6).
There is a saying that is a nightmare. It is said that after lunch, I was sleepy, so I fell asleep for a while, and when I woke up, a small child had grown into a mature adult with white hair. Life is just so short. It is like the grass that sprouts in the morning. Life is like grass that grows in the morning and fades in the evening. Life is so short.
Second, because life is fast (verse 10).
How fast life is is about flying away. That is why it is often said that “boy time is crawling time, youth time is walking time, old age time is running time, and old age time is flying time”. Life is fast, but it is a human concern that we cannot catch the time.
Third, because it is a life that will return to dust (verse 3).
We are beings who will eventually return to a handful of dust. After man's transgression, God gave a terrible judgment to man, which is a command to return to the dust.
(Genesis 3:19), it says, “In the sweat of your face you will eat food, and eventually you will return to the dust, for in it you were taken, for you are dust, and to dust you will return.” We are a life that will return to dust. We must not be proud. Don't even think that you'll live forever.
The end of our lives is coming. God is eternal, but man is finite. God is infinite, but man has limits. How, then, can we have hope? We must live with hope in God. That person is a wise person.
