Title Reason for Devotion (Romans 12:1-2)
Contents 1. Reason for devotion (Ephesians 2:8) From the moment of creation, man is destined to serve God. Consecration starts with obedience. Without obedience there can be no dedication. Only those who are dedicated preserve their status. Eve's disobedience turned her back on the paradise of Eden and became the beginning of her suffering. You must devote yourself to the God-given body as a chosen servant who is called to be a true soldier of Christ.
2. Method of devotion (1 Peter 5:2) Serving the Lord with zeal is the first devotion. To glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.
Serving and devotion should be done with joy.
Consecration is giving of myself. This is spiritual worship (Romans 12:1).
3. The price of dedication (1) He makes us holy. He changes our hearts and makes us a holy people.
(2) He gives us the strength to overcome the world.
(3) It gives you peace.
God's promise in return for devotion is not what we want, but God's one-sided promise and grace.
word of devotion
The original meaning of the word herem in Hebrew is 'dedicated' and 'devoted', and it is related to the concepts of piety, exclusion, separation, and taboo. This term refers to objects that are not allowed to be used for everyday purposes. According to Leviticus 27:28, a person or thing dedicated to God could not be used by an individual, because 'everything dedicated was very holy to God'. In connection with the war, this horse vowed to sacrifice all the spoils, whether life or death, to God in hope of victory (Numbers 21 2-4). No one offered up could be redeemed (Leviticus 27:29).
