21:33 Listen to another parable, where the owner of a house planted a vineyard and hedged it, built a press in it, built a tower, rented it to farmers, and went to a foreign country.
21:34 And as the harvest was near, he sent his servants to the peasants to receive the fruit.
21:35 The peasants seized the servants, beat one severely, killed the other, stoned the other.
21:36 Again he sent more other servants than at the beginning, and he did the same to them.
21:37 Later he sent his son, saying, They will honor my son.
21:38 When the peasants saw the son, they said to one another, “This is the heir; let us kill him and take possession of his inheritance.”
21:39 And he seized them, and cast them out of the vineyard, and killed them.
21:40 What then will the vineyard owner do to the farmers?
21:41 And they said, Exterminate the wicked, and let the vineyards be rented out to other peasants who are worthy of their harvest.
21:42 Jesus said to them, "Have you never read in the scriptures, The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone, and this was done by the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes?"
21:43 Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a people that will produce its fruits
21:44 He who falls on this stone will be broken; and when this stone falls on a man, he will be ground to dust
21:45 When the chief priests and Pharisees heard the parable of Jesus, they knew that he was speaking of them.
21:46 They wanted to seize him, but they were afraid of the crowd, because they knew Jesus as a prophet.
