Title The Righteous Man / Matthew 1:18-25
Content The righteous person / Matthew 1:18-25
The Gospel of Matthew was written for the Jews, because the Jews take genealogy very seriously. Clarifying Jesus' genealogy shows certainty about His existence. What kind of person did Joseph have to be called the ‘Father of Jesus’? Joseph was a righteous man. He was an innocent man of justice and love. In the Mosaic law at that time, there was a provision in which an engaged virgin would be stoned to death if she lost her chastity. Joseph respects this law and shows justice to divorce Mary. But you can also see his acknowledgment of not wanting to kill her by making it a public matter.
First, I did not reveal myself. Joseph did not know that Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit. My fianc e's pregnancy was a huge shock. At first, you may have felt deeply betrayed by your fianc e's pregnancy. However, Joseph did not disclose this to the people around him. This was Joseph's person and faith. I left everything to God. The problem with modern people is that they are too hasty. I hope that ‘justice’ and ‘injustice’ will be covered soon. We look forward to an immediate answer to your prayers. I don't have enough patience. You must know that God will reveal everything in due time. And you have to be calm.
Second, I wanted to quit quietly. This is a thoughtful move to quietly break the marriage. “Let all people know your generosity, for the Lord is near.” When Abraham divided the land with his nephew Lot, if you left, I would go left; if you left, I would right. Lot chose the fertile land that he could see, but the land became the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and was destroyed by fire, and the land that Abraham owned became a land of fertility and blessing.
Third, it is time to think about this. From a believer's point of view, you can think of it as a time to pray. When you are struggling and thinking to solve your own problems, the Lord does not ignore the troubles of these people, but appears and solves them. “The angel of the Lord appeared in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife,” the revelation was fulfilled. It is evident that this was a lack of faith. Jesus was born only by the Holy Spirit and is still with all the saints as the God of Immanuel, and we have come to accept the historical fact that the virgin birth is an absolute fact. We should all become righteous and bear much fruit as disciples of Christ.
