Title The speaking voice (Numbers 07:89)
Contents Moses went into the Tent of Meeting and was about to speak to the Lord, and he heard a voice speaking to him between the two cherubs on the mercy seat above the ark of the testimony.
It is very precious and appreciated for Jehovah to speak with his own voice.
1. Moses wants to speak to the Lord No matter how extreme the gap between God and humans is, humans must speak to God and God must listen to them.
Since Moses, the man of God, was called by God from the beginning, he spoke to God (praying) in everything he did, and he immediately learned and understood the will of God and put it into practice.
Then, in the text, what word did they enter into the tent of meeting to tell God? Perhaps they were trying to report these facts because all the tribes happily dedicated various items used in the sanctuary.
In any case, it is impossible to enter the tent of meeting without a purpose, so I will give the necessary words to the Lord.
2. The voice of the Lord. As the people gladly carried out the offerings to the sanctuary, God immediately responded and came near to the people. He was brave to prepare all the things and remove the unclean things inside the camp, and Moses, the leader, came into the tent of meeting and tried to speak to the Lord, so God himself, who knew all these facts, spoke between the two cherubim on the mercy seat above the ark of the testimony. appeared as a voice.
God did not meet Moses, the people's mediator, in isolation as he had done at the top of Mt. Sinai before, but he met him in the tent of meeting, the dwelling place where God will reside from among the people. it will be god
Conclusion: In the Old Testament times, Jehovah's presence was usually known by the sound of his voice.
Moses, as well as Samuel, and other servants and prophets of the Lord always appeared and spoke in this voice. Even in the New Testament era, whenever the Son Jesus appeared, he appeared as a speaking voice (Matthew 3:17, 17:5, John 12:28).
