Title The third Psalm/3:1-22
Content body/chapter 3
Lamentations Lee is the most desperate and mourning out of the five lamentations.
1. There is sorrow for the afflicted (verses 1-21)
“I am the one who suffers because of the wrath of the Lord” (verse 1).
This is a symbolic expression of his people
The expression of his suffering is that the Lord 1. broke his bone (v. 4).
2. He made them dwell in the rocks of the earth (verse 6)
3. Barking the body (verse 11)
4. Made drunk with wormwood (verse 15)
5. There is no peace in spirit (v. 17)
6. The torment is severe (verse 19).
7. Hope was cut off (v. 18)
These are expressions of the reality of human suffering in many ways.
2. We want God's mercy (verses 23-39)
“For the mercy and mercy of the LORD are endless; we are not to be utterly destroyed” (verse 22).
It is a work method that is sure of God's boundless mercy.
This is an inner expression of longing for God's mercy in the context of Lamentation.
1) The Lord gives good to those who ask (verse 25).
2) The Lord will not forsake you forever (verse 31).
3) It is not the Lord's original intention to suffer in life (verse 33). Such things are an evaluation of the Lord's grace and care.
3. There is a claim of repentance (verses 40-42)
“Let us examine our own deeds and return to the Lord” (verse 40).
“It is a gift from God that leads you to repentance” (Romans 2:4). The Prophet tells his people to examine themselves and turn to God.
Turning “with heart and hands to God in heaven” (verse 41) is a typical prayer posture. To receive God's favor is to examine yourself first, raise your hands in prayer of penance, and receive forgiveness for your sins.
4. There is sorrow for sin (verses 43-54)
“He hid His wrath, He disarmed us, He slaughtered us, and showed no mercy.” Verse 43. Sin widens the gap between God and man. Destruction, destruction (v. 47). This expression of sorrow is revealed in v. 51, “My eyes bruise my soul.”
5. There is a consolation and a curse (vv. 55-66)
“From the depths of the pit, O LORD, I have called on your name.” Verse 55. The prayer of a sinner who repents in deep despair is desperate. “Throwing into a deep pit” is a figure of throwing himself. The prayer at this time reaches its climax with “Jehovah, you have found my injustice, please forgive me.” Prophet The prayers of God have heard the reproach of those who oppose God, and have repaid them according to what they have done;
They want us to disarm
