Title Through Eutychus/Acts 20:7-12
Content I. There must be an awakening of faith. (7-9)
There was good reason for Eutychus to fall and die. First, I took the wrong seat and sat down. Not on a chair or on the floor, but on a dangerous window sill. It's about finding your own benefit and comfort. I also fell asleep deeply.
It's not wrong to sleep, it's the time and the timing that matters. When I longed for the Word and needed grace, I was dozing off. Again, I couldn't get over sleep. It is a lack of patience and perseverance, that is, patience.
II. A new life history must appear. (10-11)
Luke, the writer of the text, is a physician. It is recorded in verse 9 that Eutychus died, who was a physician. Eutychus, who died, experienced a new life through Paul. It is not simply the meaning of dying and surviving, but the history of new life through Christ Jesus.
After Eutychus was raised, he took part in Jesus' sacrament. It is a new life as a person who has a new life that participates in the life of the Lord, that is, the original life of a human being. Eutychus tells these precious facts until dawn.
This is fellowship in faith and a new life that testifies of the work of salvation and life.
III. You must have courage to live. (12)
After Paul's departure, many people say that they saw Eutychus and were not little comforted. The word comforted here means “to gain courage” or “to gain new strength”.
Eutychus, the man who fell asleep and died, and Eutychus, who had nothing but shame and shame, became the living evidence of Christ, the living evidence of the gospel, and the living evidence of the power of Jesus.
It is a wonderful life that gives courage, refreshment, and comfort to others as those who have received a new life in Christ.
