1 Kings 18 records the events of the prophets Baal, Asherah, and Elijah on Mount Carmel on Mount Carmel.
Ahab and Jezebel
Ahab tells this to Jezebel, who sent an envoy to Elijah. The reason is that? Needless to say, the reason he wanted to kill him was to prevent him from taking any other action just because Elijah was victorious.
Elijah's reaction
He fled into the wilderness for his own life. Even before the heat of Mount Carmel cools down, the brave man of faith takes refuge in the wilderness for his own life. This is the moment when human weakness is revealed. He is a human being like our nature.
Disappointed and frustrated Elijah
Elijah must have been shocked. His dream of converting Israel and holding the lamp of reform seemed to have gone too far away, and the evil was getting stronger. I ran away to save my life, and now I pray, take my life.
Elijah under the broom tree
I sat under a rosemary tree and prayed, and after that I lay down and slept under it. What is a Rodem Tree? It is a tree that can grow up to 5m in size. The rosemary tree in the desert or wilderness is a great haven for passersby and shepherds.
Elijah receiving God's touch and refreshment
Sometimes I miss and comfort the touch of my parents and friends, but in today's text, God touched Elijah through an angel himself. He touched Elijah twice. God is a God who cares for our wounds. God is a God who cares for our failing and weary hearts. Elijah was very comforted. God is still with you. Even in the midst of failure and sin, God is with Elijah.
God's prepared love
God prepared a ram for Abraham, who lived by faith. In today's text, God prepared charcoal-grilled bread and water for Elijah. Jesus prepared warm bread and meat for the disciples who were tired all night long.
Dear brothers and sisters, there are times when we are tired and exhausted. There are things that are difficult for us to deal with. Sometimes I feel discouraged and frustrated. For Elijah, exhausted and frustrated, the shelter was under the rosem tree at the end of Gwangyang. There Elijah rested and was refreshed. To the weary Jacob, Bethel was the rosemary that God had prepared. Where is the rosem tree in our lives? The church is a rosemary tree. The bosom of the Lord is the rosemary tree. Below the cross is a rosemary.
