Title Waiting (Genesis 29:21-30)
The more beautiful and precious the content, the more patience is required to obtain it. In the text, Jacob also waited 14 years to get Rachel, whom he loved, as his wife. What kind of lesson does Jacob's waiting give us today as we wait for the Lord?
First, there was hope in Jacob's waiting.
His unwavering desire to take the man he loved as his wife enabled Jacob to endure that long period of time. Today we also need hope. It is the hope that if the Lord comes, all tears will be wiped away and a new world of joy and joy will come true. That hope will persevere us.
Second, there was love in Jacob's waiting.
Love is the driving force behind waiting. His unchanging and sincere love made Jacob unable to give up even in the midst of hardships for a long time. We need this kind of love as we wait for the Lord. True love for the Lord will keep us from giving up on Him in any difficulty.
Third, there was faith in Jacob's waiting.
Even in the midst of difficulties, Jacob believed in God's promises. It is his belief that the secret of his victory to the end. Even though the current situation is difficult, as long as we believe and follow God's promises, we will finally be victorious.
Dear Bethel Families! We are waiting for the coming Lord. If we keep our faith with hope and passionate love and wait, the Lord will come to our side, heal our broken hearts, heal our sick bodies, and guide us on the road to eternal life.
