Genesis 19: 12-22
When God created us humans, He already gave us conditions for happiness. However, the important thing is that not all people are happy just because they have received all the conditions for happiness from God. There are happy people and unhappy people in this world. However, the problem is people who feel unhappy without being able to live happily even though they have the conditions for happiness. Lot in today's text was such a person. Lot was a man who had all the conditions for happiness, but he was the one who ended his unhappy life. Why was Lot unhappy? The cause was Lot himself. Why did Lot's life, which had been running with success, fall into the abyss of failure? In short, his wrong lifestyle was the problem. Today we must illuminate ourselves through Lot's failed life. So, what determines the success or failure of our lives? I hope you find out what is wrong with my lifestyle and what problems need to be corrected.
1, Wrong choice is the problem. (Reference, Genesis 13:8-9, 10, 13)
This is an important statement that shows the cause of Lot's ruined life and falling from happiness to unhappiness. What was wrong with Lot's choice? The land was perfect for raising livestock, and it was a wide pasture with plenty of water. He chose an environment where he could live comfortably and be happy physically by increasing his wealth. In other words, Lot placed more importance on the physical and external reality than the religious environment.
Even today, like Lot, there will be many people who only look at the external environment and become unhappy.
It is Almighty God who gives and takes things. Therefore, if we look at everything from God's point of view, think about it, choose according to God's will, and live God-centered, God will give us the blessings that please Him.
