What can we learn from Christmas? (Luke 2:1-4)
When it comes to Christmas... The first thing we should think about is that God, who is God, came to this lowly and lowly earth in a human body.
Because all human beings have sinned, the sinless God came to pay the penalty for our sins. That person is Jesus.
Then, since Jesus is the God who created heaven and earth and is all-powerful, why did he have to be born in a manger?
The fact that Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem was the will of God that was prepared to save mankind from the beginning.
You don't know how detailed and thorough our God is.
He prepared the land of Canaan for Abraham, prepared a lamb on Mount Moriah for Isaac, and prepared an upper room and a colt for the Last Supper of Jesus and his disciples.
God, who is preparing, moved the Roman emperor Augustus to activate the family register in order to give birth to Jesus. And he made Joseph and Mary go on a long journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem.
Also, that night... God made the inn rooms in Bethlehem full. There were so many people that there was no place for pregnant Mary to rest.
Only then could Jesus be born in the stable according to the prophecies of the Bible.
Indeed, the birth of Jesus was thoroughly prepared and the prophesied words were fulfilled.
Even today, God is the “God who prepares” for us in the same way.
However, the Bible speaks of the event of Jesus being born in a manger as a ‘sign’.
A sign means that God's will that He wants to show us through a certain event is contained therein. So what does it really mean?
Jesus was not born as the prince of Rome, who had the supreme power at the time.
You didn't grow up in a luxurious palace.
Because it is God... he has the best background among people, he comes from a good background, and he is likely to be born into a wealthy family... but he didn't do that.
