Title When You Forget God (Ezekiel 22:1~16)
Contents
The reason the Israelites were judged and destroyed by God was because they left God's Word.
They left the Word of God and committed all kinds of filthy and ugly sins.
If you read their sins that God pointed out, you can see that they were so serious that it was embarrassing to even speak of them (verses 10-12).
God speaks of their sins in two main ways.
One is a social sin committed in relationships with people, and the other is a religious sin committed in a relationship with God (verses 3-4).
Religious and social sin are inseparable from each other.
Those who disobey God's Word and deviate from the life of faith are bound to sin morally and ethically.
Conversely, those who value God's Word and act faithfully in faith are expected to live a righteous life in relationships with others as well.
Because the Word of God and the Holy Spirit within us are constantly demanding of us.
Through today's message, we Christians need to remember that God does not only look at our faith, but also our general life as important.
This means that life in the church as well as life outside the church is really important.
Today, I hope that you will be in a right relationship with God by deeply meditating on God's Word, being sober, awake, and praying. This is because only then can you live a righteous life without committing a crime in your relationships with people in society.
If you forget God, sin will take its place, and sin will rule over you. All that remains of such people is the terrible judgment of God.
