Title: Why Thank You! Text: Joshua 23:1-11
The word “thank you” is the Greek word for “eucharisteo”. This word means ‘to contemplate the happiness of grace and to realize its depth’. Goethe said this: “The most useless man in the world is the ungrateful man,” he said. A true human being is one who knows the grace of his parents, the grace of his teacher, the grace of his neighbor, and furthermore the grace of Almighty God. We should always look at our lives and learn to thank God for the grace He has bestowed upon us. Everyone! Today is Thanksgiving Day. Thank you for God's love and grace for the six months from the start of the year until today, and I hope that you will become those who believe and give thanks that God will protect you for the remaining six months.
1. We must thank God for giving us rest so we can work.
(Jos 23:1) The meaning of the word ‘rest’ here means ‘to stay, to rest, to rest, to settle down’. God gave the Israelites rest so they could enter the land of Canaan, settle down and work, so that they could sow grain in the land and reap fruit. Although they conquered the land of Canaan, there were Canaanite natives who challenged them. God gave Israel victory in the battle against them, and gave them rest in peace, and allowed them to work. This peace from the Lord has brought rest to our homes. It was the Lord who sacrificed himself. This peace from the Lord has brought rest to my life. This peace from the Lord has brought peace to my spiritual life. So he lived in good spirits, in all things, and in good health. Isaiah 45:7
2. We should thank God for guiding our past lives.
