Worship/禮拜 (Genesis 12:1-9)-⑷
Abram, who appears in today's text, introduces the scene where he left his hometown at the age of 75 under God's direction and went to Haran, which God instructed. God speaks tremendous blessings to him: ① make a great nation ② bless him to make his name great ③ bless those who bless you, curse those who curse you ④ bless all the peoples of the earth because of you said he would get Hearing this, Abram took three actions, which I would like to examine from the perspective of worship.
First, Abram followed the word of the Lord (Genesis 12:4).-"Then Abram went after the word of the Lord." It can be said that it is natural for those who worship God to follow the word of the Lord. The meaning of the word (davar) used here includes the contents of ① to guide, ② to rule, ③ to command, and ④ to speak. Therefore, those who worship the Lord must follow God's leading, be governed by God, and follow God's commands.
Second, Abram built an altar to the Lord (Genesis 12:7)-'He built an altar to the Lord who had appeared to him'. The meaning of appear (raa) is more than ①, ② look, ③ know, ④ understand. God is a spiritual being, invisible to the naked eye, but it enables us to know and understand the existence of God. So, God made Adam know God's existence by voice, and Enoch understood God's existence by walking with him for 300 years. The people of Israel were made to see the existence of God through a pillar of cloud and a pillar of fire. The meaning of “build up” (bana) has the meaning of ① build, ② build, ③ restore, and ④ rebuild. Worship shows that worship that builds an altar for the Lord must be restored, rebuilt, built, and built.
Third, Abram called on the name of the Lord (Genesis 12:8). - ‘Called on the name of the Lord’ and called (kara) means ① to ask for help ② to name (name) ③ to cry out. Worship is asking the Lord for help, supplication, and shouting.
