Jehu the son of Hanani. He had reproved Baasha, king of Israel, at Tirzah (1 Kings 16:1); and now rebukes Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, at Jerusalem.
Shouldest thou . . . ? Figure of speech Erotesis, for emphasis. Here we have Jehovah"s opinion as to alliances with idolaters (Ahab, 2 Chronicles 18:1, &c), and as to what constitutes a "good work". See note on 2 Chronicles 19:3.
ungodly = lawless one (singular) App-44.
