the Levites toot up. These were the bearers, but the priests (being Levites also) brought it into the house (as stated in 2 Chronicles 5:7 and 1 Kings 8:3). Hence, in 2 Chronicles 5:5 they are called "the priests and the Levites". See note on Deuteronomy 17:9.

tabernacle = tent. Hebrew. "ohel. App-40.

unto this day. This is a copy of 1 Kings 8:6-8, or an addendum by Ezra; because it is not applicable to "the day" of the writer, as may be seen from 2 Chronicles 36:22, 2 Chronicles 36:23. But may this possibly have a mysterious reference to Revelation 11:19?
Verse 10

Verse 11
all. On this occasion all served; not "by course". Note the parenthesis in verses: 2 Chronicles 5:11-12.
were sanctified = had sanctified themselves.
