■Similarly, you may still be incomplete in your faith in the early days of your faith. But God will soon establish that faith rightly and in good health at the right time. That's why the Lord has chosen you. (Sanctification and glory, we were all weak when the Lord called us, but...)
="LINE-HEIGHT: 130%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char" class=Text>[1] While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul went to the upper provinces and came to Ephesus to meet some disciples.
Ephesus was the capital of the Asian provinces under Roman rule at the time, and it was a blessed port, where commerce and religion developed. And the church in Ephesus was served by Apollos until just before Paul arrived.
■What we can know here is God's time. Originally, this Ephesus was the place where Paul stopped for a while on the way back from his second missionary journey. At that time, the Ephesians begged Paul to stay and teach them. But Paul said: [Acts 18:20] Many of them asked for a longer stay, but they did not allow it, and they parted ways, saying, "If it is God's will, I will come back to you." Then they boarded a boat and left Ephesus...="LINE-HEIGHT: 100%; LAYOUT -GRID-MODE: char" class=background>
(Ecclesiastes 3:1) “There is a season for everything, and there is a time for everything under the heavens.” Here, “time” refers to vertical time. A time when some meaningful event occurs. We call this “time” God’s time. The greatest time in history, that “time”, is the time of the first coming of Jesus, divided into BC and AD, and the time of the second coming (new beginning and end).
■However, the “time” that is meaningful to us today is the “time” when the things you dreamed and wished for finally came true. I pray in the name of the Lord that you and I have many such blessed days. This requires a wait. Faith is the patience of waiting (Ishmael and Isaac)="LINE-HEIGHT: 100%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char" class=Background> ="LINE-HEIGHT: 130%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char " class=text>[2] He said, "Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?" He said, "No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.
Originally, receiving the Holy Spirit has already begun when we first repented and believed in Jesus. (Acts 2:38) “Peter said to him, Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
■Here is something you should think about first. This is the correct perception of the forgiveness of sins. Believing in Jesus begins with forgiveness of sins. We must start with the concept and consciousness of the forgiveness of sins, and the conviction of that.
(1 Corinthians 12:3) “Therefore I tell you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God says that Jesus is accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit” (Lord! Are you coming?)
It is through the Holy Spirit that we can truly say that Jesus is Lord. These words mean that the very fact that we can confess Jesus as my Lord and my God means that we have already received the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 8:9) “If the Spirit of God dwells in you, you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not of Christ.” It makes sense. This is the general receiving of the Holy Spirit.="LINE-HEIGHT: 100%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char" class=Background>
However, it is a slightly different concept here that Paul said whether you received the Holy Spirit when you believed. Receiving the Holy Spirit here is a slightly more special concept. It has to do with the gifts that are revealed by receiving the Holy Spirit.
For example, it is closely related to the spiritual experience of speaking in tongues, prophesies, and mouths. And this manifestation of the gift, if not present, is related to the experience of clearly feeling some spiritual phenomenon of the existence of God.
■However, at that time, the Ephesians did not have such an experience of the Holy Spirit, so they did not even know what the Holy Spirit was. The Holy Spirit refers to the personal experience of the resurrected Lord filling the hearts of the saints with the Spirit. It is to experience the reality of Jesus 2,000 years ago again now. (Ongoing)="LINE-HEIGHT: 100%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char" class=Background>
[3] And Paul said to him, What baptism were ye baptized with, and he answered, The baptism of John.
John's baptism here refers to repentance, that is, water baptism with the determination to repent of sins and live uprightly. That doesn't mean they don't know Jesus at all. Although Jesus knows, there is no experience of the Spirit of Jesus, that is, the Holy Spirit, which was accomplished after that.
■So, what we can understand here is that baptism is divided into water baptism and Holy Spirit baptism. Water baptism started with our determination to live holy in the Lord, not worldly, when we first believed in Jesus, and the baptism with the Holy Spirit has been based on practical spiritual experience in a way that greatly strengthens that belief since then. (It is common to experience the Holy Spirit after baptism, but there are cases where people are baptized after experiencing the Holy Spirit.)
■Through these experiences, we have the confirmation that God truly lives. So, when the saints experience the Holy Spirit, their faith becomes more complete and clear. It means that the degree of life that is lived according to God's will, not mine, becomes very clear and clear. (Bonus to those who believe? Plus Alpha?)
■ After this experience, Paul confessed as follows. (Galatians 2:20) “I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh is faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. to live within.”
[4] And Paul said, "John baptized with repentance, and said to the people, 'Believe in him who is coming after me,' which is Jesus." [5] When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. [6] And Paul laid his hands on them. And the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied. [7] All of them were about twelve.
Here, John's baptism was a water baptism of repentance that prepared the imminent coming of Jesus. So Paul baptized them with water in the name of Jesus. And when Paul laid his hands on them again, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and all those who received the Holy Spirit spoke in tongues and prophesied. At that time, there were about 12 people in total.
■Come on! Let us again distinguish baptism here. The baptism of John, the baptism of Jesus, the baptism of water, and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. John's baptism is water baptism. This is a ceremonial stage of reception with the meaning of repentance and redemption.
If this baptism alone does not shake the faith, this water baptism is a sufficient condition for salvation. This is done through confession and confession that our Lord is Christ.
■But the baptism of Jesus means the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is the work of the Holy Spirit experienced when we lay hands on our hands in the name of Jesus, when we pray and sing praises, and when we hear the word of God. This presence of the Holy Spirit is experienced in various ways regardless of my will. Water baptism is done with my consent, but fire baptism, that is, baptism with the Holy Spirit, is done by the will of God, regardless of my will. Articles>
However, as I said last week in conclusion, this experience of the Holy Spirit or its fullness is not just a simple spiritual experience, but more than that. It is no longer my will, but the Holy Spirit, that is, living by His will. I do not live according to my thoughts or feelings, but by the thoughts and emotions that the Holy Spirit gives me.
So, your life will be completely different. Life becomes very lively and dynamic, a life that is bound to win and succeed. Hallelujah!="LINE-HEIGHT: 100%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char" class=background>
Last day John the Baptist said: (Luke 3:16) “John answered all of them, saying, I am baptizing you with water, but one who is mightier than I is coming, and I am not worthy to untie his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. I will give you.”
■Jesus said this to his disciples before he ascended to heaven. (Acts 1:8) “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” It means the power to live that life very successfully.="LINE-HEIGHT: 100%; LAYOUT-GRID-MODE: char" class=Background>
Dear saints, The conclusion is as follows.
1) There is a time for everything. (Ephesus was Paul's 3rd mission field. Let's be sensitive to God's time, not mine!)
2) Cooperative ministry: Paul helps Apollos' ministry, and Apollos helps Paul's ministry. (The ministry of the Holy Spirit and the ministry of the Word)
3) About the Holy Spirit experience
■Even if you have experienced the Holy Spirit in the past, keep the fullness of the Holy Spirit. Fullness means overflowing. Not all life can be dynamic unless it overflows. May the grace and power of the Lord overflow through your life of constant prayer and meditation on the Word.
■ Are there still people who have not even heard that the Holy Spirit exists? I hope you yearn for the presence of this Holy Spirit. So I hope that your faith and life will be very active and dynamic, and that you will be good witnesses of Christ.
■If you have experienced the Holy Spirit in this way, obey the Lord's rule and rule as Paul said that it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. And I bless you in the name of the Lord that you will live a life of true victory and success, which is the result of that obedient faith.
