Title: A Church Like Bethesda
Bible: John 5:1-8
(…) Resurrection of Jesus For 2,000 years since his ascension, Christian history has been guarded by those who risk their lives for the truth. The Korean church is also a history of people like Joo Gi-cheol, Son Yang-won, and Jeon Deok-gi, who risked their lives to defend the truth. The strength the church will show is Jesus Christ, the Messiah. If we do not show Jesus, more and more people will leave the church (…). The church becomes a powerful church when it shows the image of Christ. The church should be a community that shows the life of Christ. A church where grace is boiling. If our church treats everyone like the Messiah, respects and loves each other, and builds a humble community, our church will be different. … )
(1) Bethesda was a place where water moved.
Thousands of people come there with their serious problems. It is the last place where people who searched for a doctor who is Yong-ha in the world and spent a lot of money to cure the disease come to the last place. He did his best with his own strength, but because he was disappointed, he had no choice but to wait for the water to move. The church is like this. I used to live my life my way, my way, but the church is where I wait for God's way. It is a place where we wait for God's grace.(…) When we worship at church, we must have Amen. Amen must be present in fellowship with the saints. There should be no judgment or criticism.(…)
(2) It is the place of the Lord's mercy.
A huge crowd gathers during the holidays. Prominent people, noble people, powerful people, and famous people gather in the temple synagogue, so they come to see such people and show business cards. But Jesus did not go there, but came to Bethesda, where only the paralyzed people were gathered. In that heart there is comfort and mercy for the lonely. He has mercy on them.(…) The church is where the Lord’s mercy works.(…) It is a place where the Lord’s mercy is received. The grace of the Lord was in Bethesda.
⑶ You must obey. You have to believe it.
“Do you want to get better?” Then the 38-year-old answered, "I'm looking for someone to put me in." At that time, the Lord did not say, “I will put it in!” “Get up. Pick up your bed and walk.” How do I say this? You have to believe and obey (…) There are people who like theory. When we ask to have a countermeasure meeting, we bring out the negative things of the past, leaving only scars. For a theory to be meaningful, there must be obedience. The church is a place where you have to work with a vision in the Word.(…) Everyone! Life is not a theory. Faith is not a skill. Even though I am weak, I can do anything with your mercy. Bethesda That mercy must be obeyed. Amen
