《Silver Coins to Find》
(Luke 15:8-10)
On August 5, a tunnel collapsed in the San Jose coal mine in Chile, burying 33 miners 700 meters underground. After 17 days, it was confirmed that all 33 people were alive, and the rescue operation started on September 1. (…) It is a life that must be found, and tremendous efforts to rescue it from the darkness are continuing. 2,000 years ago, the rescue operation of all mankind began in the land of Judea. God sent his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to save sinners. Sinners are trapped in darkness, like miners in the San Jose coal mine. The Bible likens a sinner trapped in darkness to a lost sheep, to the prodigal son, and to a lost drachma.(…)
① The importance of one silver coin (drachma)
(…) At that time, Jews had to pay a dowry to their father-in-law to bring their daughter. And he gave the bride a wedding present, which was 10 drachma of silver coins threaded onto a string and put in a box. The value of drachma does not lie in its high or low value, but as a token of the groom's love for the bride. The gift is a precious wedding gift that the bride must keep for the rest of her life.(…)
②This is the drachma you need to find.
(…) I lost a drachma. 1/10. Without that drachma, the 9 you keep is meaningless. The reason is that the drachma I received from my husband is 10. Because it means her love for her husband, her faith, and her hope for the future.(…) The important meaning of the Lord's words is that we must somehow find the lost drachma. This is because, if the lost silver coin is not found, the meaning, value, and purpose of a woman's existence will be lost. Lost silver coins must be found.(…)
③Let's imitate the woman looking for silver coins.
(…) ¹The woman turned on a lamp and went looking for it.(…) This is to say that the church must awaken and repent to find the silver coins and illuminate the dark church with the Holy Spirit and the Word. ²I searched through the house.(…) There must be a movement to find one soul through thorough contact with each member of the saints.(…) ³I searched diligently. Those who evangelize must be diligent. Even if you turn on the light and clean the room thoroughly, you have to be diligent (…) It takes hard work and patience to find it until the end (…) You must find the lost drachma. Like a woman looking for a soul, let's sweep the house, light a lamp, and diligently search for it. Amen!
