(Isaiah 44:28-45:7)
All countries have a day to commemorate those who died in war.(…) In 1966, the National Assembly designated June 6 as Remembrance Day, and has been keeping it as a legal anniversary since 1975. This day is a day to commemorate not only the Korean soldiers who died in the Korean War, but also all the martyrs who gave their lives to protect the country. Today is that day of remembrance.(…) Today I will tell you about the true patriotic spirit. Today's text is a prophecy of historical events that occurred around the time of the prophet Isaiah. The key point is to record the fact that God saved Israel through the use of a Gentile ruler named Cyrus.
① Cyrus as an instrument used by God
Cyrus was the ruler of the Persian Empire. God sent Cyrus to conquer Babylon. Babylon, which seemed strong, was absurdly destroyed by General Darius. (…) God made Cyrus to issue a liberation order. And they had Jerusalem to be rebuilt.(…) God greatly blessed Cyrus to make this happen.(…) Why did God bless Cyrus so much? The text tells the obvious reason. It was to save Israel. It is God's providence and plan for the salvation of Israel that Cyrus conquered Babylon and made his name known in the world. (...) The rise and fall of all nations is not a coincidence. It's inevitable. There is no blindness, but God's purpose. It is not a dialectical history, but a history of creative and providential sovereignty of God Himself.
②Here is the true meaning of Christian patriotic national
Patriotism means protecting the country. The word “Christian Patriotism” means that true Christianity is to love and be faithful to the country in which they live. Not only that, but it means that we have to defend our own country in this world where Christians live. For the sake of the prosperity, peace, order, and peace of the motherland, it is necessary to clearly express the spirit of patrioticism.(…) The Bible says that God has ordained the boundaries of all territories. It is said that the source of all authority is from God, and all lineage is from God. Because the origin of the nation came from God, it is necessary to defend the nation.(…)
