have to let go
If I tell you, “I am not humble. “If I said, am I really a humble person? Are you not humble?
A missionary I know confessed, “I am a failed missionary,” in front of short-term missionary youth. This man is truly humble because of his courage and burden... . I remember being amazed.
We often
That man is humble. When you say that, what do you see in that person and say you are humble? I looked up the dictionary. There was this interpretation of humility.
There is an attitude of respect for others and not self-proclaiming.
Unfortunately, there are few humble people around us, and there are many people who pretend to be humble.
The reality is that it is difficult to distinguish who is truly humble.
As Kanjo Uchimura said, "Salvation begins with repentance, and repentance begins with humility."
There are things we too have to put down in imitation of Christ.
My possessions, my pride, my family, my future, my life
It is only when we put all these things down that we can be humble.
“Humility is the stillness of the mind.
It is the absence of greed and not being surprised by anything that happens to you.
It is also not overreacting to harmful things,
Being praised or despised is not agitated.
It is to quietly kneel before God when life in the world is really difficult and painful.
It is a heart that can obtain peace like a sea of silence through prayer.
To have a humble heart means to be in the nest of grace."
- Andrew Murray - said.
William Carey, famous as a missionary to India, was originally a shoemaker. When he was dedicated as a missionary, some tried to devalue him by saying, "You used to be a shoemaker," but he said humbly, "No, I was a shoemaker."
1) What does the Bible say about humility?
2) Today's text explains why we should be humble. Why should we be humble?

Who is not humble?
If you have a desire to be elevated in your heart, that person is not humble.
If jealousy burns in his heart, he is not humble.
If you have a heart to be recognized by others, that person is also not humble.
This is because the person cannot be humble because of his obsession not to lose the mastery of his heart.
3) Now, we should shake off our pretending to be humble and come to the humility that pleases God.
Many scriptures teach us humility.
Romans 12:16 互いを 一つnishi, 高ぶラず, 低い人¿ and 交わrinasai.
Matthew 20:25-28 「I know that I am doing it, I am thinking about it, and I am thinking about it. . In the middle of ああがたが, 偉kunari がが is, 仕えru あえる あえる あえる あえる あばん あばん あばんばいざ is, and 皆 僕 ninari nasai.
In light of these words, 1. The biblical meaning of humility
* Recognizing and acknowledging one's own limitations (1 Kings 3:6-9)
* Acknowledging the holiness and omnipotence of God (Isaiah 6:1-5)
* Confessing and acknowledging one's unworthiness (Luke 15:17-21)
* Acknowledging your own corruption and sinfulness (Luke 18:14)
* Recognizing the preciousness of Christ (Philippians 3:4-12)
2. Why you should be humble
* Because God is asking for it (Micah 6:8)
* Because the Lord set the example of humility (Zechariah 9:9; Matt 11:29)
* Because it is the way to receive the favor of the Lord (Proverbs 3:34; James 4:6)
* In due time, God will exalt you (1 Peter 5:6), so this is a meaningful exaltation.
* Because it is a worthy act as one who is called (Ephesians 4:1, 2; 1 Peter 3:8, 9)
5. how to be humble
* Turning from the evil way (2 Chronicles 7:14)
* Be humble with the humble (Proverbs 16:19)
* Determined to humble ourselves before God (Daniel 10:12)
* Keeping the ordinances and asking for humility (Zep 2:3)
* Take on the yoke of the Lord and learn from the Lord (Matthew 11:29)
The most typical figure of humility for us among the characters in the Bible is Jesus Christ.
What humility can we learn from Jesus?
It means that he was God and took human form (Philippians 2:7).
Born in a humble place (Matthew 1:18-25)
Serving and obeying parents in humility (Luke 2:51)
One of the disciples was a servant (Luke 22:27)
Entered Jerusalem on a colt (Matthew 21:5-10)
He Himself washed the disciples' feet (John 13:5-14) and so on.
Augustine had a student named Raina. One day, Augustine had a business and called this disciple. "Hey, Reina."
Even when the teacher calls, Reina does not answer. It seems to be in the next room, but there is no answer. So I tried calling again and again, but there was still no answer. "No... this guy...!"
Augustine slowly began to grow angry.
He nervously opened the door to the next room and pushed it aside.
For a moment, he said, “Ouch!” And I didn't know what to do.
Reina was sitting on her knees and praying earnestly to God. I was so engrossed in prayer that I couldn't hear the teacher's call. Augustine was ashamed and did not know where to go. He waited for the prayers to be finished before begging the disciple Reina.
"Stand with your feet on my neck and shout three times, 'Pride Augustine, proud Augustine, proud Augustine!'"
He said he apologized. Augustine was a humble man, but when he realized that there was such pride inside him, he struck his chest.
Humility begins when a person makes a self-evaluation of 'I am proud'.
It is because the river flows downwards that it can absorb the water of all the valleys. If you can flow down, you can eventually go up.
- Huai Man (Politician of the Former Han University of China)-
Humility is like underwear. Although essential, it is unsightly when it appears on the outside. - R.C. Savage -
When I asked Saint Augustine what the greatest virtue of Christianity was, he said it was humility. So, again, when I asked what was the second greatest virtue, he replied that it was humility again. When asked again the third time, what is the great virtue of Christianity, the third time he answered that it was also humility.
The opposite of humility is pride. Pride is the most fundamental of the vices. Christian humility is not about being sarcastic or crouching.
It can be said that true humility is knowing yourself before God as God has created you, and staying in yourself as God has created you.
What can I do worse than that person? The thought that I am better than myself leads to ignoring others, criticizing them, and making them think they are not desirable. Such a mind would grow weeds that are harmful to the group to which he belongs.
When should we be humble?
1) When you stand before the Lord (2 Kings 22:19)
2) When meeting people (2 Corinthians 10:1)
3) When you feel your sin (Luke 18:13, 14)
4) When you feel your limitations (1 Kings 3:6-14)
5) Anytime (Acts 20:18, 19)
We are saved through the humility of Jesus Christ.
He came as the King of the world, but rather than exalted, he humbled himself and took the form of a servant. He is the King of humility.
Those who can participate in the Lord's salvation must also put down themselves and come before the Lord humbly.
What the Lord wants of us is humility. The peace of Christ will come in the gathering of the humble. Even now, what the Lord wants to find in us is humility. He desires to walk humbly with God.
I pray in the name of the Lord that today's text will once again be engraved in my heart and that all the humble Akashi Church members who live today with holy zeal will become.
