The school teacher gave the students a cue. The cattle in the mountain village suddenly disappeared, and three calves were brought back. How would you say this in Chinese characters? Many children say it's Seongjima. One geeky kid replies that it is predictable. One religious child responds with thanksgiving.
What does it mean to be a Christian? It is imitating the life of Christ. Jesus gave thanks for 5 bottles and 2 fish in front of more than 5,000 hungry people. To the cynical and aggressive Pharisee Sadducees, Jesus said, "I thank you for revealing the kingdom of heaven to little children." In front of the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus said, "Father, I thank you that you have heard me." Gratitude is a life that imitates Christ.
What we see and live determines how we live. Are you a grateful person? Are you a complainer?
In today's text, Numbers 11:1-9, the Israelites complain that they should be thankful when they are heading to the land of blessing. Why? It is because of “the rotten Gentiles” in verse 4. When the Gentiles begin to complain, Israel also begins to complain. It was influenced by the Gentiles. They were the people who followed Moses because they saw Moses' power in Exodus 12 and thought that it would be beneficial for me to belong to the ranks of Israel. We who should teach gratitude, don't we also live with resentment? The cause of resentment is that we forget the grace of the past. Because we forget the blessings of the present. Because you have lost your vision for the future. What should I do? First, learn to be self-sufficient! Second, turn the language of complaints into the language of vision!
