Title: “Why I Live, Why I Die”
Contents
None of us lives to himself, and not one of us dies for himself. This is a fact before it is a word. How can birth, life, and death (life and death) be the will of a person? So Paul
"If we live, we live for the Lord; if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's" (Romans 14:8).
If I think about it a little deeper, I don't live at all. Everything is by God's grace (only grace - sola gratia). That's why the Apostle John said, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him (Jesus) should not perish but have eternal life (salvation)" (John 3:16).
First, my life is the saving grace that God has given me.
People don't just live. We live when we live like human beings. If you are not human, you are not living. What is the way to live like a human being? It is living righteously. But where in the world are there people (righteous people) who live righteously? There is no one. All are sinners (Romans 3:10). Therefore, you must first realize that you are a sinner and deviate from the path of sin.
The only way to receive forgiveness from sins is through the blood of Jesus. In order to save sinners, we need to know the great love (grace) of God the Father, who sent his only begotten Son, Jesus, to this earth and killed his son (Jesus) on the cross as a sacrifice for sin. Knowing is not the end, but repenting, confessing, overcoming the power of death and believing in the risen Jesus Christ. You must also become a witness of Jesus Christ through your faith in the resurrection.
"I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20). Hallelujah!!
Second, to die to sin.
It's not just dying. You die in order to live righteously. You cannot live a righteous life with sin. So we must die to sin. God the Son also died for a sinner like me, so why can't I die, a sinner who deserves to die? must die to live We must die to sin, kill our self, and kill pride, arrogance and greed. So Paul
“According to my earnest expectations and hopes, I will not be ashamed of anything, but I am still as fully courageous as I used to be, so that whether I live or die, Christ may be exalted in my body, for for me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:20). -21)
Is that all? “I die every day” (1 Corinthians 15:31).
Jesus said.
“He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39; Luke 17:33).
“For the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).
Resurrection faith is the obedience of faith that He gave Himself on the cross for sinners who have no choice but to die because of their sins. When I die, the church lives, and when I live, the church dies.
Conclusion. Human life and death are in God's hands. let's not be shy I am not living on my own. It is not living my way (John 14:6). Only when we live the life of Christ Jesus in service and humility in Christ Jesus, whether we live or die, we become the Lord's. There is eternal life in the Lord.
