Text: Romans 14:22-23
The child asks the mother, “Why does Mom have gray hair?” When asked, he replied, “Every time you get upset, your gray hair grows.” The child asks again as if curious. “But why is Grandma’s hair all white?”.
These days, we live with our legs in the middle, alternating between joy and sorrow. The sadness on the other side of the bridge
① It is because we see that our country has reached a point where it is difficult to be healed due to conflicts of ideological and ideological thoughts,
② It is because, even in this reality, they see these people standing before the judgment seat of God because they are living in vain, aiming for only one hundred and fifty gold with politicians who are engrossed in party tactics rather than the country.
③ Because we see that the roots of liberal democracy, which were almost lost under Japanese politics and the invasion of communism, are shaken.
④ The fate of this country has been turned upside down by the North Korean communists, who are responsible for the loss of 1 million lives and the pain of separated families in the Korean War, and left-wing politicians and incitement from the crowd who rationalize the anti-American movement saying “there is one root” Because you can see that it is in
But it is because of the joy on this side of the bridge that we have hope. that is
②It is nice to see that there are still many people in this country who still wish for a free democracy to see that the fact that public opinion polls appearing through the mass media are being systematically manipulated are transmitted through the mouths of the media and people around them.
③The happiest thing is that before Easter, we proclaimed “the early morning prayer meeting on the 20th day of the Passion of Jesus Christ”, and I am very happy that about 300 members, the largest number in the history of our church, are steadily building the dawn altar. The way you come to God with faith is so lovely.
Today's sermon is, "Do it by faith, not by faith is sin." So, why does God require faith from us? Why is faith important, and why should we live by faith?
1. Why does God require faith?
① Because Jesus is the Lord of faith. “Let us look to Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2). Jesus is the Son of God, the Lord of all life, and my savior. Without this faith, we cannot participate in God's work of salvation, so God demands faith from us.
② It is because we can please God only if we have faith. “Without faith it is impossible to please God” (Hebrews 11:6). In other words, it is a sin to live according to one's own will, a life created for the glory of God.
2. Why is faith important?
This is because we will have the right values, the view of the country, and the customs of the future. Young people form “a group that loves ○○” for Yanye people. There is also this kind of political phenomenon. Also, sin is close to communism, which says there is no God, and is absolutely not close to Christians. We Christians need to be alert. We must act so that this country can stand as a democracy that stands tall in the world by seeing and judging reality through the eyes of faith.
3. Why should we live by faith?
① It is because we are saved through faith (Acts 14:9; Ephesians 2:8).
② Because nothing is impossible for those who believe (Mark 9:23).
③ Because those who believe will follow signs of speaking in tongues, healing, and casting out demons (Mark 16:17; John 14:12).
④ Because those who believe participate in the resurrection of eternal life (John 11:25-40; Romans 1:17).
⑤ Because we are justified (Romans 3:30, 4:5, 9, 5:1; Galatians 2:16; Phil 3:9).
⑥ It is because we become wise (Romans 12:3).
⑦ It is because we can give thanks (Colossians 2:7).
Dear members of Shepherd Church,
Let us live by faith that pleases God. Let's look to Jesus, the Lord of our faith. Therefore, I pray that you will become wise saints who build themselves on holy faith in this chaotic world. Hallelujah!! Amen.
