Title: Don't Be the Prodigal Son
Contents
Do not become the prodigal son (Luke 15:17-24)
The prodigal son took his father's fortune and tried to achieve great success with it
He returned home as a beggar, and there is a modern-day prodigal son like this.
There are many in this day and age like the prodigal son Jesus spoke of.
1. Who is the spiritual prodigal?
(1) Those who do not live according to God's word and precepts
The prodigal son in the text does not want to listen to his father and does not live according to his father's teaching and instruction.
I lived my own way, but today the words of God the Father, the precepts, the commandments, the decrees,
Anyone who does not live according to the law is like a prodigal son.
You must obey the words of those who are superior to you or superiors in the world
We have to obey the Word, but how can we create and rule all things and protect human life and death?
Do you disobey the word of God the Father, who is in control, and hope that things will go well?
(2) Those who do not live in their father's house
A son is valued and recognized as a son when he is in his father's house.
In Luke 2, when Jesus was twelve years old, he went to Jerusalem for the Passover.
When the feast is over and they return home, Mary and Joseph know that Jesus is with them.
I came for a day and looked for it, but I went back on the road I had never been before, and I searched for three days and went to Jerusalem
When they arrived, Jesus and the scribes in the temple in Jerusalem were preaching God
While they were arguing, your mother, child, why did you do this to us, behold, your father and
I was troubled and sought you.” Jesus said to him, “Why did you seek me?
Did you not know that I must be in my father's house?
Jesus said that as the Son of God, he must be in the temple of the Father's house.
Saying we are children of God, the saints who should be in Heavenly Father's house
There are people who are not in the temple of the house of God and wander in the outside world.
The Saints must be in the temple, the house of Heavenly Father.
You can become a child of Heavenly Father and not a prodigal son.
You can do all things when you are in Jesus who gives you strength.
It is not something you do when you are outside of Jesus (Philippians 4:13).
In John 21:15, after Jesus was resurrected, seven disciples including Peter
They went to the sea of Tiberias to catch fish all night long, but they did not catch any fish.
I couldn't catch it and the day was dawning, but the Lord came and made a charcoal fire and baked bread.
and said to Peter, Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?
I asked the question three times, and what Jesus called Simon
When Peter became a fisher of men in the Sea of Galilee
You cannot become Peter because you have returned to the way you were before.
When we go to church, we must be in the temple to be members of the church, and when we should be
If you are not there, go out into the world and become like Peter who is about to catch fish again.
It will become a modern version of Simon, and a modern version of the prodigal son.
(3) A person who has lost his son
The son left the house because he didn't want to hear his father's nagging because he didn't like his father's interference.
If he lives according to his own will, he loses his qualifications as a son.
Today, people who run away from home because they don't like their parents' nagging or interference
How many teenagers are there when the enforcement agency catches them and takes them home?
Parents say that I do not consider such children to be children, so some parents tell me to return them.
Also in the text, when the son left his father, he lost his identity as a son.
Identity is when you are in a position to be protected.
If a saint loses his identity as a saint, he has no choice but to become a prodigal son in the modern version.
(Matthew 5:13) Ye are the salt of the world; if salt loses its taste, with what shall it be salted?
After that, it is of no use, except that it is thrown out and trampled on by men.
When the saints lose their taste with the salt of the world and lose their mission,
He loses his qualifications as a child and has no choice but to be ridiculed by the world.
2. When he returned to his father, he restored the status of a son.
The prodigal son left the house because he disliked his father's discipline, instruction, and words.
I thought I would be able to live my life well, but that's not the case, I just struggled
When I returned to my father, I found the identity of my lost son and restored it.
How did the prodigal son come to the idea of returning to his father?
(1) I couldn't stand hunger.
The son who left home did not realize he was hungry because of the material he had for a while.
He had been there, but the money he had was running out, and the famine came, so he couldn't stand it because he was hungry.
Today's spiritual famine, spiritual hunger, needs to be met. Spiritual famine is the famine of the word.
If you leave Heavenly Father's bosom, you will be spiritually starved and you will not be able to avoid the famine.
Spiritual famine must be filled with the Word of God alone
(Amos 8:11-13) Behold, the days are coming, saith the Sovereign LORD, and I will send a famine upon the land.
Not hunger for food, not thirst for water, but a thirst from hearing the word of the LORD.
From sea to sea, from north to east, people stumble to seek the word of the LORD.
They will wander around and find nothing; on that day the beautiful virgins and the young men will both perish from hunger.
You must not leave your father's bosom before the famine, and you must not leave your father's house, the temple.
Do not depart from grace, do not depart from grace, and do not grieve the Holy Spirit.
In John 4, a woman from the city of Sychar in Samaria tried to satisfy her fleshly satisfaction.
I met this man and I slept with him, but I met a real spiritual famine
I couldn't do it, but I met Jesus and was born again through the words of Jesus, and I have never tasted it until now.
I experienced the spiritual fullness that I had never been able to, and preached to the whole city that I had met the Messiah.
Are you spiritually full of God's grace and the manna of the Spirit right now?
I pray that you will always be filled with the Word, filled with the Holy Spirit, and filled with grace.
(2) I was spiritually unstable and could not stand the emptiness.
What the prodigal thought that he could live well on his own was undoubtedly shattered.
He turned away from all his friends, and he tried to kill pigs to make a living.
He was not able to take care of himself, and he could not even eat the berries of pig food.
No matter how much he has, the soul that has left his father is bound to be anxious.
The person who is mentally unstable right now is because he has moved away from his father,
We must find our Father, and we must seek the lost God.
One night a ruler named Nicodemus came to Jesus, and he had no social status.
I had money, I had a career, but nothing could fill my spiritual anxiety and void
I did not find Jesus.
(John 7:37) If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. He who believes in me
Rivers of living water will flow out of his belly, as the Bible says.
3. We too must return to God.
(1) You must first realize your fault.
They hate the word of their father, they hate the word of God, so they openly complain and grumble.
Others receive grace and rejoice, so why should you live a life without joy?
Looking back on your life so far
What is wrong with God must repent and return to the Father's arms.
(2) You must make a decision in your heart.
The sooner the decision is, the better.
I was able to get out of the pigsty only when I got off, and many people
Today, I can't make a decision and I'm hesitating. (1 Kings 18:21)
Don't hesitate, return to God's arms as soon as possible, and make a decision now.
(3) Once you have made a decision, you must put it into action.
If it ends with a decision, there is no benefit, and once you have made a decision, you must put it into practice. Faith without works is dead faith (James 2:17).
I have to turn around from where I am now and run towards my father's house.
(2 Timothy 3:5) Having a form of godliness, but denying its power, turn from such people.
When he returns, the father welcomes the son again and restores his son's identity.
Even on Lunar New Year's Day, the children the parents waited for their children
When they don't come, their parents will turn around and weep and sigh.
They should weep and mourn for not returning to God's bosom.
When Jesus carries the cross and goes up to Golgotha in the Garden of Gethsemane
As the women follow us and weep incessantly, Jesus tells Jerusalem
Daughters, do not weep for me, but weep for you and your children (Luke 23:28).
Dear saints,
Just because we go to church doesn't mean we're not members of the church.
neither enters nor enters, as children of God, with the Father in the Father's house.
Only those who live by the word of God are truly children of God.
Are you in the arms of God now? Or out of the world like a prodigal son
Are you heading to the world road to live your life the way you want?
If he has nowhere to be and cannot do what he should do, he is a modern-day spiritual prodigal son.
Take a look at your faith at this moment, repent of what is wrong and make a decision
We must turn and return to God's bosom,
When we return, all our faults in eating out formally and living a religious life,
I believe that He will forgive sins and restore the right to become a child of God.
